Motrin is definitely the most effective and lasts the longest for our kiddo! Even during some of the ugly days of hand foot and mouth, Motrin would help him sleep off the misery!

It's worked great for us. Our youngest is the one who got on the Motrin train for us. It does wonders for him. When I was postpartum the first time, I did Tylenol and had a rough recovery. With my second's postpartum recovery, I did Motrin and rebounded so much quicker.

Motrin/Advil/Ibuprofen is a miracle cure for me, too ;-) I usually go for that over Tylenol when my kids aren't feeling good because I know it actually works.

My youngest jumped off the slide on the playground and landed on another kid. She ended up biting *through* her tongue - that Advil made all the difference - I couldn't believe how much she ate after it kicked in!

Ibuprofen in general was a wonder drug for my son. I could dose him with acetaminophen all night with no results, but one dose of ibuprofen and we'd see a reduction in fever right away.

Motrin is the best. Tylenol did nothing for teething before 6 months.

@peachykeen: my toddler asks for it anytime she sees the bottle or medicine cup or sees me give it to her sister. Sorry it's not candy kiddo.

Motrin has always worked for DD - she just turned 2 in August. There was one illness recently where it didn't work as well and I was SHOCKED. She actually asks for 'edicine' any time she doesn't feel right (it's a good clue something's off with her, actually) and I usually have to tell her no unless it's bad enough to warrant it

Motrin was a miracle drug for us during teething! My DD never got a fever, but as soon as the meds would kick in, she'd be a totally different kid. Lol.

LO has had a couple of illnesses in the last few months where she is totally miserable, sleepy, so cranky, runny nose, and feverish. But when we give her Motrin she is 100% fine after it kicks in, bouncing off the walls, eating everything in sight, and smiling and giggling.

Anyone else's LO easily fixed with some Motrin? Despite my skepticism about teething causing fevers/runny noses/etc., I'm starting to wonder if these episodes are actually teething, given how easily they are fixed. I know last time one of her bottom eye teeth did pop through a day or two later, and this time her top two eyeteeth are clearly visible right below the surface.

Anyway, just curious and oh-so-grateful Motrin works as well as it does for us!
