@ladybee: I've been wondering how you and M were doing and I'm so sorry he's sick again!

@daniellemybelle: Hyla decided to get up four times last night. Mommy had a talk with her about how we had a good thing going with twice-nightly wake ups,but I don't know how well she listened.

@daniellemybelle: no you don't sound like you are humble bragging! It sounds like she has fewer naps because she is taking decently long naps- c needed a lot more bc she would wake up after 40 minutes.

@ladybee: I was just thinking you haven't been around our due date thread! So sorry your LO is sick :( S did get up at 2:30am & then again at 6am last night (anything before the sun's up & she goes right back down) so I'm not sure I can say she STTN consistently. I know it's definitely a good problem to have but since we have had such issues with BFing, I worry she is not eating enough.

Of course this post jinxed it! She woke up at 2:30am :)

@Kemma: I hope she doesn't drop naps early! I need those naps! But yes, her fussiness is so much better when we stay on our routine!

@daniellemybelle: if your schedule works for you then it's perfect! And some babies thrive on and respond really well to a tighter schedule. You might also find that your LO will start to drop naps on the earlier side if she's already organised her sleep into three naps during the day.

@daniellemybelle: my LO got maybe 10hrs non continuous overnight plus she was queen of 20 minute cat naps till she was at least one.
She is getting a ton more than my daughter ever did. I assure you she is getting enough. ;)

But I constantly worried about this as well an just realized not all babies need the "recommended" amount.

I'm jealous that you have a schedule (even if it's not always consistent). DD is 12 weeks, and we don't have any sort of a schedule. She's usually awake about 1.5 hours between naps, but her naps range from 20 minutes to 2 hours (unfortunately the two hour naps are becoming extremely rare these days). She eats at least once and sometimes twice during her awake periods. She wakes up once or twice at night.

I think as long as your DD is happy and growing, you probably have nothing to worry about. Each baby is so different!

@evansjamie: I know we are lucky especially in the nighttime sleep department! I'm sure the 4 month regression will kick our asses. I will say I have become a nap Nazi because she is such a beast when she is overtired. If she won't fall asleep in her swing, I swaddle her & rock her with white noise until she gives in, and I often have to hold her the whole time.

@Pepper: She has at least 10 wet diapers a day if not more, though her morning diaper is usually not any more wet than the others - is that unusual?

@Foodnerd81: I hope I don't sound like I am humble bragging! I really worry that she is not eating enough, but it seems silly to keep her up longer for an extra feeding if she STTN with six?

@locavore_mama: Really? I know her nighttime sleep is great but I feel like only 3 naps is not enough!

That sounds like what the books promised me and never came to fruition! I think it might be unusual for a baby that young to get on such a good schedule but I don't think it sounds like a problem in any way!

I never worried about not nursing often enough to maintain supply since at ten weeks she was nursing every two hours at least.

I think if she seems happy, alert and healthy then all is well! Is she gaining well? Lots of wet diapers? Especially her morning diaper?

If yours is weird, I'm jealous. We're still waking up twice a night and this week she's decided that naps are for babies.

I feel like what we are doing is a little "old" for her? I worry she is not eating or sleeping enough. She eats 6 times & takes 3 naps, and then sleeps 10-11 hours a night with one 5am wakeup. (I guess you could also say she sleeps 7-8 hours & takes a long morning nap.) It looks like this:

5am - Eat, right back to sleep
9am - Eat
10:30am - Nap
12pm - Eat
1:30pm - Nap
3pm - Eat
4:30pm - Nap
6pm - Eat
7:30pm - Bath
8:30pm - Eat
9:30pm - Bed (it often takes her a while to fall asleep)

Of course, this is a perfect day. We often deviate slightly. Ideally her naps are 1.5 hours but usually two of them are 45 minutes and one is 1.5-2 hours.

We nurse & supplement and my best estimation is that she is getting about 24 oz a day, which seems on the low end.

I figure if she is sleeping through the night, and having good alert periods during the day, all is well? I just feel like this is weird!

PS: I also worry that 6 feedings is too few for my already precarious supply so I have been pumping at 11pm if I am not too wiped.

Edited to add - I know this sounds awesome, and contrary to my posts about her being "high needs." Rest assured she is still very fussy when she is awake, and the only reason she takes good naps during the day is because I am militant about it. Otherwise we both end up sobbing for hours.
