Brrr... 60 is cold for me too. If you're not sure if he's cold I would recommend putting a hat and socks on him all the time. My guess is if his hands are cold then he might be cold.

I would go by how he feels, not how he acts. You might just be blessed with a very relaxed baby who doesn't tell you when he's uncomfortable. 60 is very cold in the house. The coldest we let it get is 69 in our house. I personally would not feel comfortable leaving my baby in a room that cold without being completely bundled (ie: a fleece sleeper, gloves, hat, socks and a blanket) because they don't know how to regulate their temp.

I never did the 'one more layer' thing - and I have a skinny little girl. I just couldn't imagine all that clothing. I put her in just as much as I'm wearing, and it's always served well.

my daughter is always warm, but honestly 60 in the house sounds really chilly! our thermostat the other morning read 62 because DH had accidentally turned the heat off, and I was really cold. I dress LO in a fleece footed sleeper and a fleece sleepsack at night, and our heat is usually on 68-70 but we live in an old house, so it feels more toward 68

I have the opposite problem, in always hotter than everyone else! So the rule of dressing in one extra layer for your LO is hard for me. We keep our thermostat around 66 in the winter, although LOs room is usually 70 (according to the monitor). I have been dressing her in light sleepers at night + swaddle, and onesie/pants/socks during the day.

Sawyer only complains about being hot, never about being cold, so I make sure to follow the dress rules (though we do as many layers as much, instead of 1 more because he has always been a warm baby).

I know there is a general guideline for how much clothing we should put on our baby (5 month old), such as one layer more than what I am wearing, but I haven't been abiding by those rules. I get cold easily anyway, but sometimes, temperatures do fall to 60 degrees inside our home, but the most clothing I've put on him indoors is a long sleeve onesie and maybe a fleece sleeper. I know that *I* personally would need a lot more layers to feel comfortable, but he seems okay with it? I'm not sure! I also dip cloth wipes in cold water and wipe his bum with it too! Wouldn't he complain about being cold and uncomfortable, or does he just not know any better? This also applies when we go out. I may be cold, but I usually don't add more layers than I do when he's inside (mainly because I'm using a carrier). I do put a hat on him, but that's about it. He also sleeps in a very cold room as well. I frankly don't know how he does it!! What do you think?
