@Weswife: I'm sorry you are stressed. Your progesterone isn't low based on what you have said. If it was tested before you even ovulated then the level is appropriate.

Please be careful taking P supplements unless you are sure you have ovulated because it can actually prevent ovulation. I hope the Dr.'s are able to test your levels again at the correct time in your cycle and see if there is any issue.

@MaryM: OK thanks!!! I didn't really know I just pushed because I didn't know what I was doing, but I am at least glad I have what the fertility specialist thinks I need. I have never had cycles like this so I am pretty sure its low anyway!

@Weswife: if you have too much progesterone you may feel crappy, but it won't negatively affect your fertility. And it could also help regulate your next cycle if it's off.

If they want to test your levels again, I'd push for 7dpo instead of day 21

@Weswife: can you just ask for another blood test in a few days to check levels? Although if you want to start the P, I was advised to start it 3dpo. I'd call your OB to double check everything. My RE also told me I couldn't take too much P, my body would just use what it needs and secrete the rest. I was on it for 3 cycles before getting a BFP. I'm just starting to wean myself off. Good luck to you.

@delight: I had my levels checked on CD 24. But when I spoke with my doctor last he informed me that long cycles caused low progesterone. I had my lh surge on Friday and I have had others say it seems like I haven't ovulated yet, so yes it was prior to ovulation that I had the blood test. It was the afternoon of the day I got my surge. Since I have spoken to the fertility specialist and she gave me progesterone and I was informed that I couldn't be getting to much. So either way hoping this is my month and hoping the progesterone came just at the right time!! Also thanks for the info. @MARYM too I called the doctor to explain this main concern and she said its ok to just take the progesterone now. Should I email my main OBGYN just to check on this info tomorrow?

It depends on where in your cycle you are. I think you posted yesterday that you had this test before your peak? If so, the test is sort of useless. What you really need is to take the test about 7 days after ovulation to see where it is when it matters the most.

What day did you have your levels checked? I am in Canada and so our units of measurement are different but those numbers look to indicate you haven't O'd yet. Most doctors would like to see over 5 (and some like to see higher than that) to indicate ovulation and yours is 0.3. If you got your positive on the 22nd you might not have O'd until a couple days later so you took the test too early. When I was doing progesterone testing we aimed for 7dpo for results. Mine came back at 31 nmol which is about 9.8 in your units. My doc wanted mine higher and I was put on supplements. Good luck to you. My RE likes a level higher than 10 to indicate a strong ovulation. Right now it is just saying your P levels are pre-ovulation. Can you go back in 3-4 days?

Also, Progesterone rises after O and peaks around 7 and then starts to fall again so really try to get it at 7dpo. It's typically called a CD 21 blood test but we all don't O on day 14.

Ladies here are my progesterone results and being new to this whole cycle thing I honestly don't even know where to look. Could it prevent me from conceiving this month 😞??? So worried and scared! My last menstural cycle started on March 30th. I got a positive opk on cd 24 which was April 22nd. Doctor is out of office and won't respond till tomorrow :-(. Also he mentioned he may way to put me on Clomid or something else that started with a I, what do I do?
