We did a very long potty training road. We started sitting him on the potty at 6 months old. Around 15 months he started peeing in it occasionally. By 18 months he peed on command into it (but didn't necessarily not pee his pants). Now if we go every hour he will pee and poop in it. But not necessarily tell us he needs to go and he is 2 years old. So there is no reason you can't introduce the potty and see were it goes.

That sounds like a great start! There are a lot of approaches to take. I'd suggest doing some research to see what one looks like the best fit for you and your family. For us, it was an approach that fit me more than C since I was the one that would have to stick through the teaching instead of giving up and going back to diapers, which of course was all C knew about. For us that was Jamie Glowacki's Oh Crap Potty Training. http://www.jamieglowacki.com

C is 16.5 months but she has a lot of the "signs" for potty training. I've noticed in the last week or so she has started, essentially, asking to be changed. We keep her diapers in a basket in the living room and she will go over, sit down and take a diaper out of the basket. She will then sit there and hold it out to us until we come change her.

I feel like she's still super young to potty train but I feel like thats a pretty big flag that she may be ready.

Thoughts? How do I start this?
