I used to have a Ninja. It does work well, but the ingredients would never puree as finely as I wanted to, no matter how long I blended them for. I like to make green shakes and I felt like I was sucking salad through a straw, because there would still be tidbits of spinach leaves floating around. Another thing I didn't like was that the blade was huge and hard to clean. I wanted to really scrub it down after using it, but was always afraid of cutting myself on it.

I actually ended up returning the Ninja because I wasn't 100% happy with the way it was performing as a juicer. Not only that, but I kept having issues with the ingredients separating once the smoothie/juice was poured into a cup and had been sitting around for a few minutes.

I bought the Vitamix instead and I LOVE it. The price is a lot higher, but it purees all of the fruit and veggies so finely and also very quickly. Super easy to clean too!

I think I would get a juicer, if you're looking for a juicer... I don't see our Ninja being a good juicer...

We got a Ninja from Costco after our old blender died. I made fresh squeezed apple juice once, which involved blending the apples and some water and then straining out the pulp. Not sure if this qualifies it as a true juicer or not.

We do like it but we use for blending, not juicing. Major downside seems to be that it is loud compared with a traditional, less-powerful blender.

I think we paid $130 minus $30 coupon, so $100, for a set with blender, food processor, and three single serve blending cups (which are pretty awesome since it simplifies your morning routine and cleanup).

@mrs. wagon: @T-Mom: I think one of the models it is claiming it's "better than a juicer" because it extracts all the juice but leaves the pulp which is more nutritious???

But yes it seems like it's mainly a blender. Which I don't need. We have a blender that does really well with green smoothies.

I don't love mine... but for smoothies it is pretty good and easier to clean. I am mostly mad at it because it claimed to be a food processor as well and it definitely isn't!
Eta: oops! Mine is the step down from that...

We have a ninja (my MIL does the buy one get one free, just pay shipping and handling stuff for all things As Seen On TV) and I didn't know it can juice. We have used it as a blender and it's very powerful. Blends ice for smoothies very well. Very easy cleanup as well.

I don't have a ninja but I didn't know it could also juice?? I always thought it was a heavy duty blender like a vitamix..

We lost our juicer when our basement flooded so we're in the market for a new one.
Just saw that BJs has the Ninja for $99.99 plus a $30 off coupon. Meaning I can get it for $70. I think any decent juicer will be around that anyway.

I have a blender that makes a really smooth green smoothie already. So my primary need is a juicer.

But is the Ninja really that awesome? How does it do as a juicer?

ETA: Is this a good price? How much did you pay?

I think this is the one: http://www.ninjakitchen.com/products/4/total-crushing/10/ninja-professional-blender/
