My due date was Dec 10. In Europe, that's written 10.12. In the US, it is written 12.10. In order to avoid confusion, which is common when you've got documents in both the US and European format, I wanted a date that couldn't be confused. He was born 16.12, December 16th.

@regberadaisy: That's good! I'm already at 39 weeks and really not showing ANY sign of baby making their entrance. Once I hit 41 weeks we'll have periodic nst to see what the next move be... as long as they look good I'll be a sitting duck! lol

@runsyellowlites:
I'm not "that" worried about it honestly to go to that extent.
My OB's policy is not inducing until I reach 41 weeks which is why I would technically get scheduled for 5/6 if I miss my EDD.

My grandpa is rooting for me to have a Dec. 16 baby... He doesn't yet know that I'm pregnant and due on Dec. 1st. I'll just tell him that I got it as close as possible, lol.

Not sure whether I'd want a Thanksgiving baby or not (not likely THIS year's Thanksgiving, as it's the earliest possible day, but if I'm a week early, it'll coincide often enough.) I'm a November baby, so I'm biased in favor of November and Thanksgiving. Really, though, healthy and in his/her own time is the goal.

I have dates I'd like to avoid but none that I'd really "prefer".
I wanted to avoid DH's bday Mar 28, my dd Apr. 1, & our anniversary Apr. 9th. Otherwise baby will & can come whenever they come.

Don't know if you're trying to avoid an induction BUT you can always request a NST to see how baby is doing before okaying an induction just b/c you hit a certain "date"... since an edd really is an estimation.

Well I am due on Mother's Day, so it would be really cool if I had her on my due date! But, due to my high BP I think I will have her early. I am hoping for May though, because there are already 9 April birthdays in my family!

For benefits reasons, I would REALLY like her to come early - like June 1st. Starting June 1st at our company, through the summer, we work summer hours - 4 days a week, 8 hours a day and get paid for 40. So, if I had her then, I would only have to use 4 days of PTO per week instead of 5. :)

Other than that, I want her to come on her due date because it's an awesome number - 6-9-12. Yay for three's!!

If this pregnancy sticks I'm due on 11/27, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I'd love to have the baby on Thanksgiving day. THAT would sure be something to be Thankful for. And we spend Thanksgiving with friends so it's not like we would be missing out on a family event or anything.

DD#1 was due 3/27 and I wanted her to come either on time or late! DH's birthday is 3/21 (tomorrow!) so I wanted him to be able to still have his day. She came 3/26, so 5 days apart.

DD#2 is due 5/22 and I don't especially mind when she comes, we just wanted to have her at the end of the school year so DH could be home too!

I'm due 5/13 Mothers Day! And hoping she comes early because all her measurements are big! Of course the way my maternity leave works is bizarre in that they make you take 2 weeks prior to babies arrival and then you get 6 weeks following delivery regardless if vaginal or cessarian. I will be talking to my doctor about my due date tonight!

I'm due June 22 but would love to hold out until the following weekend. If I'm still active at work on July 1, I will get two additional weeks of PTO - so I'm hoping to make it through the end of the day on June 29th at work, and then I won't have to start my leave until the following Monday, July 2nd. Of course, I'm sure by the beginning of June I'll have forgotten all about this and just be begging her to get out ASAP.

I'm due 10/6 but I'm hoping for 9/30 or before so that way his/her birthday is in September not October. Of course health is most important, but that would be 39 weeks. We have a lot of family birthday's already in October and (this is going to sound so selfish) but I would rather have a sapphire as her birthstone so I can get a pretty ring!

I'm due early July and it'd be cool if she's a July 4th baby. We live abroad so it's not a holiday here and I can envision a lot of fun BBQ's for her bday - with little fireworks!

I don't want her arriving on July 2nd, because it's SIL's wedding anniversary. They like to throw parties and it could possibly mean schedule conflicts down the line (even though both would fall on the same weekend). I guess I just want her to have her own special day.

My husband really wanted the baby to be born on St. Patrick's Day, but I knew there was no way that was happening. At this point I don't really care, though I would like him to come sooner rather than later. The only date I'd like to avoid is April 1st, but with my due date being April 2nd, it's very possible we'll have an April fools baby!

Yes, he was due 1/13, but I wanted him to come anytime after 1/1 (my 30th birthday, my husband didn't want us to share)- and so I could maximize my maternity leave and not waste any of it waiting on the baby.

It worked out though- they let me work an extra week at home, and he made his appearance on 1/7, my husband's last day of work before paternity leave started.

We also wanted him to come before my in-laws arrived on 1/11, just so we could have time to figure out nursing and settle into our house.

I'm due April 9. I don't want my baby to come early and be born in March. My husband's birthday is next week and my birthday is in May, I think it would be cool to have a March, April, May birthday chain for the family--we would each have our own months. Plus, if she comes around her due date, she'll be almost at the halfway point between our birthdays--a special b-day present for both of us.

I didn't really care. But for my family's sake I wanted her to come around her due date. My brother's nephew (my SIL's brother's son) has a birthday a couple of weeks before LO's. I didn't want it so close together because then they'd have birthday parties at the same time and my brother would have to choose which to go to. Obviously not a huge deal, but I'm glad we won't have to worry about it every year.

I am due 4/23, but I am really hoping that she will at least be born 4/25 or later. Mostly because my Mom is flying up on 4/24 and I really want her to be here for the birth!

On another note, I would like for her to be born on May 1st. It was my Grandma's birthday and baby girl is partially names after her so I think that would be really cool. It's also my baby, soon to be 14, year old sister's birthday. DH is convinced that she will get here on May 2nd. I think that my midwife would let me go that late if it happens.

I just want her to come when she's ready!

@regberadaisy: Don't feel bad! You want you and your LO to have your own days!

I also want baby winnie to arrive a week or two early. Terrible, but my sister is due a month after me (with #3) and is already on bedrest, and I want to have my baby first! We are technically birthing the first grandson, and I want to keep it that way. Terrible competition, I know, but there's more to the story.
