I find that when they ask for them constantly, they're actually going through a growth spurt. So if I'm asked for a snack at other times now I treat it like any other request. I say no amd remind them of when the next meal is and that it is ok for our bodies to feel hungry sometimes. Then when asked again I say I already answered and ignore. It had a huge (positive) impact on his mealtime consumption, so we've stuck with a meal-centric approach to eating. I've learned it's not the end of the world if the kids are a little hungry! If they're genuinely hungry they'll eat it but if they're just being a punk they'll turn it down! Do you offer afternoon tea? They usually eat meals decent, but some days are a miss. Just now (it's 4:25pm here) they were both whining for a snack. I told them I was working on dinner and they had to wait. The asking did not stop....it gets SO old constantly repeating myself. Any ideas on how to get them to stop asking, without giving into a snack? </p>
