It is a great opportunity to bond with my son. However, my son did not always had a positive experience with water so I had to take little steps to ensure his baths were a pleasurable experience for him.<br /> For the first month and two, I gave him sponge baths instead. He would cry every time I tried to give him a full bath and I think it had to do with the water turning cold fast. Now at 3 months, he has gotten so much better and is enjoying being soaked in a small tub of water. The key is to keep the water warm (I cover his body with a warm little towel and would replenish the towel with warm water to keep him from getting cold) and try to maintain the warm temperature throughout until you are done.
