@Ms. RV - I'm glad to hear you got her checked out but so sorry to hear it's HFM! :bummed: Hope she isn't in too much discomfort and that it passes quickly.

Just to follow up in case anyone runs across this in the future... the urgent care doc called it the worst hand foot mouth rash he has seen in a while. She doesn't have the rash on her hands and feet... just inside her mouth.

@serenity207: I called the practice and they are like "we've seen a lot of this virus lately" without much help. Right now I'm debating whether to take her to urgent care tomorrow (maybe the rash will ease up some) or walk in hour at the ped office Monday.

I could be wrong of course, but that doesn't look like an eczema flare up to me. I would check with the pediatrician - can you send a picture to him/her? Sometimes viruses lead to rashes (such as with roseola) but usually the fevers last longer than one night. Hope you get it resolved and your LO feels better!

At LO's 4 month appointment a couple of weeks ago, the NP said she had a little bit of eczema. She had dry, slightly pink patches on her legs, elbow, and temple. On Christmas Eve, LO had a fever (103.7) that went away mostly overnight and completely gone by morning. Now she has a rash over a lot of her body but it seems worse where she had the little bit of eczema. Is this rash just a bad eczema flare up from the fever? She is acting pretty normal other than being a little more clingy.
