Thanks all! I had a feeling I was just being stubborn. We will look into hiring some help for those first two weeks. The baby will come the last week of my five year old's winter break, so after that she'll be back to school which is walking distance, but it's the 2 year old that will cause issues hahaha

I would get help, especially if you have to go to doctor appts which newborns go to a lot their first two weeks. It's worth the expense until you're all healed up and have less risk for tearing. I thought it was tough with one toddler and a newborn by myself. So I can only imagine how crazy it would be with 3 toddlers and a newborn. Do you at least have friends who could come by when you have to leave for doctor appts?

I think you need help.

If you other LO's were older it might be doable but 3, 2, and a newborn alone after a c/s..... yikes! (5 yr old probably wont need you as much)

I would be most worried about the crib situation. I felt great after my RCS, but LO1 was in a regular bed and I made no attempt to lift her for awhile. Would the other children all be in daycare? Would your DH handle daycare drop off/pick up?

Honestly, I think taking care of 4 kids by yourself after a C-Section sounds really tough. Can you hire a mother's helper?

From time to time I have Mommy hubris and one might even say I'm stubborn. So, I must ask, is this ridiculous for me to think I can accomplish?

I'm due with our fourth baby in December, it will be a RCS. I have a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 2 year old (well he'll be 2 when the fourth one comes), and I normally ask my mom to come help after the baby is born and I'm recovering from my csection. Well, my mom doesn't seem keen on coming this time, we don't have any family close and recently moved and don't have any friends. I keep telling my husband that I'll be fine with no help and he keeps thinking I'll tear my stitches and bleed out on the floor. I really think I can do this with no help. My only concern is getting the then two year old in and out of the crib and driving to doc appointments. But, I think I can figure that out. Am I being too stubborn and insane?
