@periwinklebee: girlfriend, thank you for saving me two hours of research with your cliffs notes, that was great
@Shantuck: yeah 50% does sound crazy, like wouldn't prople talk about it a LOT more if that was the case? As it is no one but us lunatics has even heard of most of this stuff. I'm so glad yours wasn't very troublesome.

@agold: I can barely remember what happened two hours ago but I do recall your sex bleed 😅 I remember how scared you were. I hope your current pregnancy is going great and is a little easier on you :) and eta I'm trying to relax and not doing it. Thank goodness we're not traveling for the holidays.
@delight: after everything you have been through it is so amazing that you could even breathe, lady  I have to say I can't imagine ever being completely relaxed, either--but I'm so glad your little baby got here safely.

Heard from my OB and my beta was over 600, which is a 36-hr double rate from where it was a week ago! She sounded surprised in her email. I checked beta base and it's dead-on median for the day behind the dpo day I am, which makes sense if it implanted on the late side. So, I have no idea if it's viable, but it isn't a 3-day-late period/fading FRER chemical like I thought it would be 🙂 She told me to come in for a sonogram after New years day and didn't mention anything regarding the spotting--I'm going to ask about it but assume there's not much to do right now but wait it out, anyway. FX it's an insignificant mystery bleed or a tiny resolved sch.

@LCTBQE: I was actually on full bed rest for 5 weeks. I took it very seriously and now really believe that rest saves babies. So maybe try to take it very very easy and rest as much as possible. I wasn't able to feel much excitement (I had too much worry) until about the 10 or 11 week ultrasound I got where I saw my baby girl's legs kicking around like a big baby. I was getting ultrasounds every single week and it was crazy to watch the baby's growth progression from about week 1! After that, I slowly started to feel more joy than worry. I'll never forget the one time in late second trimester that husband and I had sex after all that time not having sex, and I bled for like 2 days. Cringe. I feel like I bled the whole pregnancy.

@LCTBQE: Glad to hear you are hanging in there and that the bleeding has stopped  I learned more than I would have liked googling about SCHs. The placenta is forming a ton of connections with your blood vessels, and if it happens to try to grab a vessel that's too big for it to handle, it will spill blood and this causes the SCH. It can be small or large, just depending on the size of the blood vessel it's trying to connect to. As others have said, they are pretty common and when small don't pose that much additional risk. Mine was moderate-sized and there was fairly heavy bleeding with it initially, and it bled for weeks, sounds like from your description that if yours is an SCH, it's a very, very small one.

@LCTBQE: My SCH was not at all a big bleed. I had a bit of spotting when I first got the positive and then a little spotting toward the end of the first tri and then by 12 weeks, it had fully resolved. I had been convinced that there was some link between the SCH and the d&c I had had the month prior but my ob/gyn assured me that something like 50% of women get SCH's and that they are extremely common (that seems high to me but that was what I was told). Anyway, mine ended up being a minor nuisance that caused a little extra worry on my end but not a serious medical condition.

@agold: you know, I didmt remember because I was too scared to join that board until after I had a good NT scan--that must have been so scary after everything you'd been through. Is that why you were on pelvic rest (right?)?
@delight: thank you, lady. All these stories about bleeding incidents are really surprising. When we're you able to let your shoulders down a bit after that happened? I'm in a place where I'm super hopeful and positive that it'll eventually work out with a good pregnancy and a healthy second baby, but I'm not sure it'll be this time.

Just trucking along here--my ob had me do a beta yesterday but haven't heard the result yet, and the breathless real time cm update 😂 is that bleeding completely stopped a couple days ago.

@periwinklebee: @ChiCalGoBee: @psw27: no, I'm not sure that it isn't a sch because I have no idea what I'm talking about 🙃 I've only ever heard of them being big bleeds, didn't even occur to me that they could cause minor spotting.
@pwnstar: I'm in the happy groove place! It's nice. I think we're cut from the same cloth and it's deeply satisfying to be able to assign a concrete reason to everything, but the mystery isn't the end of the world :)

Best wishes to you. I've bled in all my pregnancies. In my last pregnancy with DS at 5w I had a big bleed. I remember saying to DH "Well I guess that's that!" and burst into tears. I had had prior losses and was so down in the dumps about everything. However, the bleeding tapered off and the rest of the pregnancy was pretty uneventful. I hope everything turns out ok for you. There is always hope.

@LCTBQE: I'm hoping for the best for you! I don't know if you remember, but I big time cried miscarriage early on on our May 2016 due date thread. I started bleeding around 6 weeks and bled pretty consistently until like the second trimester or beyond. No true explanation. But a second something was seen that could have been a vanishing twin. Did you talk to your doctors office today? I'm hoping for the best for you!

@LCTBQE: Just chalked it up to mystery bleeding and let it go as best possible! That said, I did have a CVS right around 12 weeks, and knew at that point that everything that could be right was right, so I just did my best to roll with it. Which, I have to say, is definitely not my personality (OCD much?!), but for some reason I managed to find my little happy groove and did my best to stay in it.

@LCTBQE: I’m so glad your test got darker! With my son I spotted for over a week (mostly brown but even had a big gush of red) and everything was totally fine. If your OB is open to betas it should help you see what’s going on since that will give you the straight facts. Keep us posted and 🤞🏻!

@LCTBQE: Are you sure it's not an SCH? Your doctor could in principle see this on an ultrasound (we saw one on an us at around 5 weeks). If it is an SCH, it may bleed for awhile (like weeks or months)...but as long as it's not too large (which likely would have meant a LOT of bleeding) or too near the implantation site, it's usually fairly harmless.

Thanks, ladies  tested again this morning and the line is almost as dark as the test line now, but my cm is still kind of tinted pink/brown. Spotting aside, the tests do look really good and I think the pregnancy is snowballing, for now. I'm going to call the OB tomorrow morning and see what she thinks and if she wants to do betas.

@Nutella: @Purpledaisy: @travellingbee: @QBbride: thank you! kind of feel like I'm just strapped into the roller coaster now and have to wait and see :)

@Dahlia: @pwnstar: @bloved: @Shantuck: @periwinklebee: it's the fact that the spotting has been somewhat constant since Thursday that makes me think this is probably headed south, but I don't know. My period is a full week late so I don't think there's any way this could be attributed to implantation, and it's for sure not a SCH or anything. @pwnstar: of course I remember! did you or your doctor ever attribute it to anything like vanishing twin type of thing, or did you just close the case on it as mystery bleeding once you knew the pregnancy was proceeding normally?
