@pointybird: If you keep putting her in the crib at the same time everyday, then yes it counts as nap training. Eventually she will get used to it

@regberadaisy: So she's been not asleep in her crib for almost an hour now (30 minutes awake and playing, 25 minutes crying and fussing). I guess there will just be no morning nap? Really my question should be more like, Does it count as nap training if no nap occurs?

If she never actually slept then no I don't think it's a nap?

Okay, please don't judge, but my LO is a little over 10 months and I am *just* trying to nap train her. She was in daycare, but now she's home with me and I've let her nap routine fall apart. I realize this might be futile, but I'm giving it a go.

So today I put her down in her crib at 8:10am. She was drowsy, but immediately woke up. She didn't really cry, just babbled and squawked to herself for 30 minutes. Then at around 8:40am, she started crying/fussing.

How long should I let her cry? Usually I would let her cry/fuss for around 20 minutes before "rescuing" her but I don't know how to factor in the half hour of playing that preceded it. Basically if I let her go for 20 more minutes, she'll have spent almost an hour in her crib leading up to what will probably be just a 30 to 45 minute nap!
