I want to say we went through a similar period at that time and it was awful! I would need DH to calm her down and I felt like I was torturing the poor thing or something. Whatever it is just try to stay calm and try again a little later. I think with us she would get upset, I would get upset and she would really respond to my stress and tension. Just be persistent and this too will pass!

My wee girl went through a partial strike at four months as she started teething and it was awful! We did a lot of nursing right before and after naps and I had success dangle feeding and using the side-lying position.

Thanks! Yeah that sounds good. I will try to feed him often. Will be a little harder today since we will be at a party for the 4th, but hopefully we can make it work.

He could be teething & it could be uncomfortable for him to nurse, ultimately causing a mini strike. I would just continue offering & try to offer more often & sooner rather than when he's already hungry... that way you can try & minimize the freak outs!

During our nursing strikes I always go back to nursing for comfort (to sleep & right upon waking when bebe is still groggy). Days that we only nursed a couple times we'd do some reverse cycling.

Hope whatever is bothering the little guy resolves soon & y'all can get back to happy nursing! GL

So my LO (16 weeks) has always been a voracious eater and eats every 2 1/2 hours (give or take a few minutes) pretty much like clockwork all day. He sleeps from about 9-6 at night.

Yesterday, he started crying and I put him on my breast and he freaked out (it was time to eat anyway). Wouldn't take it and got louder. I tried maybe 5 times over the next half hour and he just wouldn't take it. He ended up finally taking it about an hour later. Next feeding he took it but was fussy. Next one he freaked out again. Wouldn't take it, finally did after many tries. This morning he ate fine at 530ish. Then again at 8. I just tried to feed him again and as soon as he got into the position to eat, he freaked again. DH soothed him and he was happy. I tried to get him to latch again. Nope. He is napping now. Sigh.

Dunno what to do and what is causing this. I wonder if he is teething because I can see white under his gums and he is a drooler/chewer like crazy lately.

Thoughts?
