My son goes to daycare a few times a week and every time we are away for vacation or he doesn't go for a week he cries or clings to me when I try to leave. They tell me it's just a minute though. But when I pick him up he never wants to leave. Ever.

@mrs. tictactoe: our kids get clingy when they're sick and then dropoffs are really hard!! It's usually a phase in that they stop doing it once they're feeling better!

Usually Liam is still asleep when I leave for work and the nanny gets him up, but when he does wake up early, he is so clingy to me and screams when I leave. It is so hard on me. Then, everyday when I come home, he doesn't want me and wants the nanny to stay. He doesn't scream for her, but he will tell me to stay when I open the door, haha. Please tell me this is just a (short) phase!

Also, he starts preschool in the fall and, while I know he's ready, this makes me nervous that he'll throw a fit when we leave in the morning.
