@banana: DD1 was pretty fussy but always ate well. I was never really 100% positive she had reflux. I think it could be over diagnosed. Anyway, hope DD2 doesn't have it!

@Andrea: Yup. DS was super fussy but DD is.not. She was just a happy spitter according to the ped. She told me that fussiness (with spit up) is one of the telltale signs of reflux. DS used to arch his back during feeds, fuss, spit up and gurgle in his sleep. DD spits up but doesn't do any of those.

@MamaMoose: aww, I didn't know that M had MSPI. DD1 had it, too, so I've been on the look out right away for DD2 (and she had reflux).

@MusicaV: hope your DS grows out of it soon!

@banana: so was DS just super fussy and DD was not? just wondering how they knew he had reflux but she doesn't, since they both spit up. my DD was really fussy and woke up a lot until we put her on meds for reflux.

My son had reflux and had to sleep on an incline for a few months. He would spit up 1-2 hours after a feed and he was super fussy. Then again, my DD ( 5 mths) doesn't have reflux but will sometimes spit up an hour after a feed. So it could go either way.

DS had reflux and sleeping on an incline did not help him. You probably know sometimes reflux is helped by the incline. He continued to spit up hours after eating, although he is slowly growing out of it.

When LO first started spitting up the doc told me it can be normal to spit up both right after a feeding and hours after. Our LO did end up having reflux which we think is due to MSPI but that won't necessarily be true for you.

After having a really awful night's sleep on day two, we decided to have DD2 sleep at an incline. She has been sleeping much better since, but she will spit up once in awhile in her sleep - several hours after falling asleep. Could this be reflux or just normal? She is sleeping on an incline.
