@Bookish: :). I've found that they get better at dealing with it as they get older. Thankfully!

@Weagle: No no, see what you are supposed to say is that it only lasts for a very short period of time, and then I will get some sleep again! ;)

We first started seeing signs of teething at 2.5 months. Her gums will go red and swollen for a few days, she drools, bites on everything, her sleep turns to crap and she is basically miserable and then.... nothing! A few days later, it starts again! She's 6.5 months now and still no tooth. Sigh.

Sitter feels the two bumps and thinks it could be any day now. Excited for this milestone and so sad my baby is growing up!

Could be! It can take months for a tooth to make its appearance.

It's hard to say. LO is 6 months old and still no teeth. I know 4 months is on the early end of getting teeth, but not unheard of. 4 months is a hard time sleep-wise...lots of developmental stuff going on. So it could be that, too. Hang in there!

Could be. It took a long time for that first tooth to pop through - and it lasts for about 2 years :)

Sounds like it! Chloe always got a slight fever and had diarrhea when she was teething. It took a good week or two for the tooth to finally pop through. I always knew when her fever broke she'd get diarrhea, and the next day there'd be a tooth!

I think we are in the same boat...went from STTN to multiple wake ups last week. It was brutal. That, combined with the red cheeks and , drooling has me thinking teething.

The good news is it seems to be short lived... She slept 12+ hrs last night straight through so I'm hoping the worst is behind us!;

could be! It took LO about 2 weeks to cut his teeth, from first sign of fussiness to the tooth actually cutting through the gum. I KNEW it was teeth when I saw a thin grayish line on the gum. That didn't happen til 9 months--everything before that ended up just having been fussiness I guess!

No idea but I'm right there with ya. LO is 7 months and last Thursday went from STTN to 1-2 hour-long wakeups every night, and refusing to nap anywhere but on me. I'm so freaking tired, and there's still no sign of that dang tooth!!

The past week dd's sleep has sucked. Friday night we had a good night, but Saturday she would only sleep if I was holding her. She's had a little cold, so I thought that was it. She was a bit fussy yesterday, but we didn't have any probs until sleeping last night. Every time we laid her down, she woke up. Had to have her paci or her thumb in her mouth and was just crying. Not fussy, upset crying. She finally slept on her tummy on her daddy all night.

I can feel a definite bump under her gum--the left tooth. I don't see anything and her gums don't look that red or swollen. I thought it could be an earache, but she nurses fine and lays down on it all right. The sucking and bump make me think it is teething.

How long until this darn tooth makes and appearance and is there anything I can do to make her feel better? She is 4 months old.
