The first time they came it was hourly and I was specific about what I wanted. But I live in a medium-sized townhome neighborhood and she said regular cleanings for houses my size it was a flat rate. But it wasn't clear what was included. In general this is what we expect of our cleaning lady, she usually does a great job so if she misses something we assume she will get it the next time. If there is an issue we leave a note. I usually write "ALL ROOMS" and list vacuum, mop, wipe baseboards, dust/clean counters, take out garbage etc. </p> <p>For little things they missed, i'd point it out before they clean or make a note. For example "Thoroughly clean sinks and faucets, including behind the faucets and where the counter meets the wall". I would think thoroughly clean would be enough instruction. The last two sessions I haven't been happy with the way they've been cleaning. They quite obviously didn't touch our tiled entry way (which is like 3ft square and the probably the dirtiest part of the house), I didn't feel they sufficiently dusted the nursery, they didn't clean around bottles in the shower, didn't clean the outside of the toilets, and left part of the bathroom counters dirty. </p> <p>I called and talked to the service and they offered to have a team and a "quality specialist" come back to fix the areas I wasn't happy with, but all they did was the entry way. After talking to them again they offered to do an extra service for free and to not charge the next time. We settled on them deep cleaning the fridge. </p> <p>The next cleaning is coming up, and I thought I'd write up a list of all the things I expect to get done. I don't feel like any of it is outrageous, but DH thinks a list this long will rub them the wrong way. I'm honestly not sure I even care about that.
