I've heard you don't want anything between the baby and the car seat. They make car seat covers that go over the top, like a shower curtain, and I think those are okay. We put a hat on her and then just use blankets. Your LO is tinier than mine though, so maybe a car seat cover is a good idea. If we are going to be outdoors (after driving), our plan is to just put her in her bunting or snowsuit in the car, after we get there.

We had a December baby in Toronto and just threw blankets over her! It worked.

In general, anything that goes between the seat back and the baby is not recommended.

I can't tell with that specific thing you posted, but I had a December baby in the Alps and we used this:

We bought the jj cole car seat cover that zips around lo's infant seat. He's not here yet so I can't give an opinion yet.

Winter is coming. (sorry couldn't resist GoT ref.) Winters in New England are no joke. I know you're not supposed to have bulky jackets in car seats, but what do you do when you take baby out of house and into car? My car is.in driveway for when I leave home, but what if we are out and car is parked far? Throwing a blanket over won't cut it in 30degree weather. Is this product safe? http://www.cuddlebabe.com
If not, how do you keep baby warm once OUT of car and into carseat/stroller? My LO is 9 weeks old and she's my first baby. Am clueless on how to handle a cold winter!!
