Amazon makes it SO easy to make returns! Also, I think that if there is no where close by to test drive the strollers then it is ethical. How do you know if something is going to work for you unless you try it??

@Freckles: this is what I was going to suggest, and also what we did!

To be honest I think unless the seller can still make the same profit (like paying a restocking fee) it's not ethical. However amazon is easy with returns.

I consider this ethical. Sometimes the only way for you to determine something is right for you is to live with it for awhile. I did the same thing with two different PB curtains. I was happy to pay the shipping cost once I realized neither style would work.

I agree about Amazon returns being easy. Also, I think your idea sounds ethical enough. And I completely understand your reasoning!

I did this with two umbrella strollers. The only challenge was getting the return item to fit back in its original packaging. The manufacturer packs it tight to get it in the smallest box possible. At the time, Amazon had free returns for all baby things.

I have had to return a few things through amazon and it has been completely hassle free. I think the whole system is automated and you don't really have to specify why you are returning something. The worst part I could see is having to take the package to UPS or the post office (I don't have a car, so this would be problematic for a large item like a stroller).

I haven't sent much back. I have only heard of a few problems with people who return a lot of expensive things. I don't think one would be an issue. We meant to do this with a swing BUT we liked them both and kept them both.

I ordered vitamins from them and sent them back once I saw the ingredients.... They made me pay for return shipping because it wasn't their fault. But it was a simple process either way.

@TurtleDoves: Cool! I would so do it then!! Amazon has that 'free return' feature in order to compete with stores that have a store or offer free returns.

@rahlyrah: yeah, I have to buy the full priced stroller from Amazon in order to get free returns, but I am OK with that. Kind of stinks because they have an "Open Box" from another seller for $39 less, but no free returns.

@bluestriped bee: just confirmed, both qualify for free returns, wahoo!

I think Amazon only does free returns if it was their fault. Like it was damaged or they sent the wrong item. So if you are returning it for personal reasons, you'll have to pay to ship it back.

As for buying something and testing it out, I don't see anything wrong with that. I buy stuff all the time and for one reason or another don't like it so I return it. Though, I've never done it for a large item like a stroller so I don't know.

ETA: I have prime and I recently returned something about 3 months ago. That's when I found out they don't do free returns anymore unless it was their fault.

ETAA: Ok, looks like only certain items are valid for free returns but it has to say it on the item's page. Guess whatever I returned did not qualify. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000508701

@TurtleDoves: Amazon is easy with returns as long as they are the ones fulfilling the order. If there is a third party involved then it can be a pain.

@littlek: Thats the part hat scares me. But, I've heard many moms say that Amazon is very easy going with returns. FX

I wish we had places near me that had these strollers set up for test driving. I am interested in the b agile double and the Hauck double. The hauck is only sold in the UK and the agile double isn't anywhere near me:(

Sorry if this is an obvious answer question :/

I have prime and we are TTC this late summer. So, I am in search of a double stroller.
I'd like to order 2 from Amazon and test drive them both (in my house, not outside) for a few minutes. I won't be "using it", but I will literally put it together, roll it around, see how my carseat fits it and then packaging it back up.
With free returns, I will send the one I like least abck to Amazon for a refund.
Is this OK? I figure it is, but I won't want to cheat anybody by ordering 2, knowing I am going to test out and return one.
Again-sorry if this is a dumb question.

Also: will Amazon give me a hard time around returns? I've actually never had to return anything to them, in all the years I've shopped Amazon. I *really* don't want to be stuck with 2 $400 strollers!
