I usually end up with my birthday falling on some part of the long weekend or I take off an extra day. I think it's fun. It actually worked out really well in our family because my birthday on on/around Easter and my sisters' birthday is on/around Thanksgiving so every time we go to my grandparents to celebrate a holiday there is always presents and cake! lol.
