I went to school for elementary education and eventually got my early childhood license (birth through kindergarten in my state). I teach preschool and I love it! I'm starting my master's degree online for early childhood education next week!

Well, I have a Nursing degree, and work as a nurse in NICU! I love my job, and really can't see myself every doing anything else! I might take on teaching student nurses (supervising practicum groups or lecturing after I get my Masters) in the future.

My B.A. is in Psychology and I have an M.S. in Counseling. Before I got married and moved to the UK I worked as a depression researcher. I really enjoyed it, but felt like I'd come to a plateau and would have started looking for something new if I hadn't been moving.
Here in the UK, I help my husband with our business. It isn't at all my field and while I like it, I do miss working with people and the mental health field. I'm hoping to find something more fulfilling post-baby (I'm due in March) that I can do from home/part time.

Well, I'm a SAHM so my degree is not being put to use. But I have a masters in art therapy and was working in that field before I had my baby girl. I love it, and would def. want to stay in the field if/when I go back to work. That or something in art in general, which I got my BS in.

I was a history major and I work as a proposal consultant. I basically write sales pitches, proposals, responses to bids, etc. for our global sales team. I'm a huuuuge writer/reader and wanted to be a lawyer (tried it for a year last year and quit), because I love my company and the career potential. I'll be pursuing my MBA this year and am looking forward to broadening my corporate career. :)

I was a communications major, so I studied a broad range of things like marketing, advertising, public relations, and then I finally concentrated on digital media for the last two semesters. So I guess I'm right where I studied for (I'm a web producer for an art museum) and I enjoy my job... but I often wonder what could have been! If I didn't hate school so much, I think I'd go back for a graduate degree.

@Mrs. Bee: Rob Sr. was an english major too! He was actually creative writing... poetry, to be more exact. And now... he works in administration for a drug research group in a medical school. Haha. He would be an excellent blogger, but he's all-or-nothing when it comes to his passions, and writing is probably his #1 passion. So if he can't write full-time, he doesn't want to write at all!

I majored in Comm Arts with a focus in television. I wanted to be a director at ESPN. I didn't end up doing that because I wasn't willing to wait 10 years to become one. It was either that or go somewhere else, direct for 5 years, and go back. After I left, I just wanted a normal life and normal working hours. No more working weekends and evenings or early mornings!

I am currently working for a software company that develops products for TV stations. I have used my degree and my experience in TV to get here.

The two years I went to school I was going for two COMPLETLEY different things. Aviation and Child develop. Two things I LOVED and wanted to do both. Then I joined the Military. Now I work FOR the Military even though I am no longer in because I was injured. So yes and no. I dont LOVE my job and where I am at right now, but LOVE that I work for the people I use to serve with. I def want to continue to work for the Military, but would def consider a different position that supports them still.

This is a two-fold question really. I'm just curious to see if people are in the field that they studied for in college. I'm not exactly in the field my undergrad coursework prepared me for. I studied forensic psych and criminology. Instead of working with criminals and profiling, I went into social work, working with victims. But my degree gave me a good foundation,.

The other part of the question is- are you in the field you'd like to remain in?
