Eeergggg, I am so frustrated for you! Adding pumping in when you're directly breastfeeding the baby is difficult. Directly feeding the baby is difficult. Pumping in general is difficult!! I wish I had a way for your husband to understand what an important thing you're doing for your son. Do you think he just doesn't realize how beneficial breastmilk is? Does he think its too stressful for you, so he's trying to discourage you from it?

As for the bottles, could you store the milk in the appropriate amount so he doesn't mix too much?

The most irritating part is that he's so protective of the formula we use as fortifier. I'm just like... We can buy more. If we need more BM before his next feeding, I have to pump. Last night I was up every 2 hours pumping so that we'd have enough for his feedings.

I wish DH had boobies and could get up every two hours to pump. I think his attitude would change REALLY quickly.

And now that I'm putting LO to breast a few feedings, I'm not pumping nearly as much as I used to and there's really no room for waste.

LUCKILY Hubs doesn't have to feed Xander often and when he does, I usually make up the bottle for him, but I know that if left to his own devices, he would DEFINITELY be careless with BM, just like yours! He got mad at me the other day because I was freezing my BM in 2 oz bags and he thought I should be freezing them in 5 oz bags. I tried to explain how that could potentially lead to more waste, and he just didn't get it! I'm really nervous about going to this bachelorette party I have coming up because I'm afraid he's going to use up my whole freezer stash! He always thinks Xander is hungry when he's being fussy, even if he's just eaten. It's so frustrating!

I wouldn't know; I NEVER used to let him prep the BM or come in any contact with it. I guarded it with my life!...because he's the careless type.

Yes, I feel like no one else cares as much as me about my breast milk. DH and his parents tend to be not as careful as I am.
I came downstairs one morning to DH fixing a thawed bag of milk and pouring it into a bottle and he spilled 1/2 of it. I wasn't too happy (I know he didn't mean too, but he wasn't being careful either). So now I pour the thawed milk.

Yes! Luckily I don't stress about it too much since I am usually home and have a decent stash, but I started saving milk in smaller quantities to help reduce the amount he wastes when feeding LO. He knows to just start with one bag then use another if she seems hungry still.

No. When LO was a few weeks old we had a really bad night that culminated with offering him a bottle of formula. He only drank a tiny bit of it, I put it in the fridge and a day later it was still there, so I tossed the whole bottle in the sink with the intention of washing it out later. DH saw it before I could and got really upset because he thought it was BM!

No, but I am pretty uptight about it. So much that I think he fed her less than she wanted the other day and she got super hungry/upset way sooner than usual and unfortunately we were driving so she cried for 30 minutes until we got home.

Mine is and it pisses me off so badly. He always assumes LO is going to eat way more than he does. Even though he's been told LO eats 4oz every 4 hours, he offers bottles of 5oz or 6oz. Or if LO fusses in the slightest, he immediately assumes LO is hungry and makes him a bottle, even if LO just ate an hour earlier. Since we fortify, any BM heated up either gets eaten or thrown away.

So so frustrating.
