I absolutely love cooking, and have several dishes that I make really well. I'm pretty adventurous with ingredients and recipes though, so we're all the time trying and tweaking new recipes... so there are some fails here and there :)

I used to think I was an awesome cook until I met DH. He's a great cook and his mother is truly exceptional so my attempts are pretty naff by comparison. I gave up for a while and let DH do all the cooking (and ordered take away when he didn't) but I'm getting back in the saddle again now! I make a couple of incredible curries, I have to say! Tonight I'm making chicken kievs so I hope that will go well.....

As for LO... getting formula into her is a struggle and she wont touch my baby rice so I guess she thinks I'm a pretty rubbish cook already!!!

We'll chat. :) Cooking yummy stuff is no guarantee-- Ellie in particular still regularly refuses to even try some of my food. As for taste, I will submit to you that most people who have tasted my food have suggested I open a restaurant. I love to cook, and it is really gratifying on a personal level to cook good food.

Having a couple of chefs in the family, I know my food is not delicious, it's probably a little better than edible. I have a few dishes that I have perfected but I am trying new recipes and techniques to make my food better. I wish I had someone who could have a simple taste palette to just eat whatever I experiment with. My husband who is a picky eater but doesn't think he is just loves it when I cook my specialties but I want to try new things too.

I think I'm an okay cook. There are a few delicious meals I make... but dh is pretty simple when it comes to food so he doesn't have the highest expectations. Thanks goodness. I'm the one who gets disappointed when dinner is a dud.

I have a salmon dish that is my pride, as well. Salmon, red onion, and fresh pineapple kabobs. Mmm.

I think most of my cooking is B+ or above, but it's a combo of finding our favorites and perfecting them and ditching the dishes from the rotation that were just not that good. I pretty much melted when I overheard DH bragging about my cooking skills, because it is well known that I used to HATE cooking and never would do it. He was happily surprised to find out that I just didn't cook often, not that I sucked. ;-)

I am a great cook, but I cook very simply now that I have LO, so I think it is ultimately is that I use quality/fresh ingredients. But, I'm a firm believer that if you can read a recipe, you can make just about anything.

I'm pretty mediocre. Cooking isn't that enjoyable when it's during week nights since we are so busy. I do like it when both my husband and I can take our time with it.

I'm an ok cook. The recipes I learned growing up probably lean toward the "comfort food" type meals, which while amazingly delicious aren't ideal for a day to day diet.

I have a rocky relationship with food, and am trying to kind of teach myself that "food is fuel" and not every meal needs to be the most delicious thing ever, or shifting my idea of what is delicious. But my typical meals now are nutritionally sound, but pretty simple.

I think my cooking is alright. Hubs says it's delicious. I'm not sure if he's being serious or just being nice. I think it also helps that he grew up with a mom who overcooked EVERYTHING, so when meats and veggies are done properly, he goes gaga for them!

I take pride in being a really excellent cook. I'm like a frustrated artist - totally bad at any and all art, but wanting to express my self artistically! So I spend a lot of time finding fun recipes and new flavor combinations to try. My family loves my cooking, and I really enjoy doing it.

I just cooked a 21 pound turkey for my friend-thanksgiving, and it was a huge hit. I was so proud!

I think I make some things well but forgettable, and have several dishes that are exceptional. Not necessarily fancy or anything, just ones I've made over and over again and tweaked with a lot. Applesauce pancakes, biscuits and gravy, black bean and spinach enchiladas with either a homemade enchilada sauce or spicy sweet potato sauce, asparagus or vegetable lasagna, cast iron steak, different kinds of orzo risotto (mushroom and/or asparagus and pumpkin/butternut squash/sweet potato are my favorites).

Soups are my favorite to make, though.
