@mrsbubbletea: I was listening to a podcast and a dr said that although they don’t have a ton of data, it looks like the outcomes in pregnancy in China have been good, no increase of mc and although there were some more c sections it may have been at the dr’s discretion and the outcomes were positive. Ugh I want to say I was listening to the daily but I’m not sure.

@Ms. RV: I don’t know if I would quite call it essential, but because it’s government I’m considered a “disaster relief” worker. We closed to the public but are otherwise business hours as usual so far. It’s possible we may work from home at least partially but so far haven’t been allowed to do so, and we were told the monitoring of us working at home would be way more intense than at the office.

IT at a mental health agency. The messed up thing is I had a small group in person trading today, then I went to 3 separate buildings picking up equipment. My company is trying to figure out this work from home thing but there are a lot of stumbling blocks: equipment availability, untrained workforce, lack of clear leadership decisions. Basically from the inside it seems like everyone is panicking.

I'm in corporate accounting so not essential. We're all working from home. Unfortunately, I work for sort of an old school company that is new to WFH. My boss really doesn't like WFH so this will be the ultimate test.

I am a nurse in a hospital and my husband repairs garbage trucks so we both have essential jobs. Kinda wish we didn’t, at a time like this.

@MoonMoon: that’s what I am trying to check on. My OB said to avoid if possible, cdc says avoid if possible, but no one really knows. And I don’t want to be refusing assignments if I don’t have my manager and infection control making it clear. I hope my manager straightens this out but that will be highly unlikely. I emailed her and she said she would look into it.

I'm an RN so I'm at work. I even called our hospital's Covid employee phone # to ask if there are any guidelines for pregnant nurses at bedside and nope, there are not.

My company and my department are essential. They closed my office for shelter in place but we still need to work from home to support the manufacturing and retail locations. My role is unique in that it is not essential but I expect to get pulled into an essential role especially since I don't have much to do from home and we're hiring like crazy to keep up with demand. However, my kid came down with a fever last night so I don't think I'm going anywhere for a while.

No, but I'll still be at work as usual as long as I don't get sick/quarantined. There is only 5 people in my office usually.

ETA: my job may be in jeopardy now as I handle all of our advertising and my boss just cut it all until we see how the economy is going to handle this (heavy equipment sales). Last recession (08) I got laid off for a few months. :(

I am in quality assurance for food safety. Most of the time I can work remotely, except this week is our scheduled biennial assessment for our accreditation. So, this week I cannot work remotely and need to be onsite for as long as the audit continues. We are taking it day by day in case there are further travel restrictions implemented and our auditor needs to leave early.

I had a long-planned week of PTO next week but it's going to turn into a week of self isolation with the family instead of a beach visit. Especially because I cannot stay home this week and will be around someone who has traveled almost continually for several weeks. The beach will be there when this returns to normal (assuming that happens) but I am selfishly disappointed and working on getting over that.

Just curious.

I am in quality control and a production supervisor for a safety equipment company. The company itself is considered essential. The quality part of me can work remotely, but as a supervisor I am expected to be in at least two days per week.
