@mediagirl: Me too!!

Kinda scary that they are so toxic though. Charlie used to be obsessed with playing with them (while wrapped in plastic... and he had no chance of opening it at that age). We would monitor him, but if I had known they were so toxic we would never have even allowed it!

@mrbee: we use that type of dishwasher detergent, as well. Ps....I LOVE those dishwasher tablets! They make me so happy!!! Haha. It's the little things.

Our dishwater detergent is similar to this, and we keep it behind a babyproofed cabinet under the kitchen sink.

Our detergent is on a shelf above our washer/dryer. And is behind doors.

Our washing detergents are also on top of our washer. We have one item in the pedestal, but we also don't have a LO yet. When we do, we'll be keeping the doors to the laundry room shut.

This story was all over the news today:
http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5jcUwq6QvmYNYBcLPuhwz45AvUpnw?docId=1d6441ebdbbe4766adf33847fee3e89e

So, my question to parents is this: is your detergent somewhere your LO can access? Our laundry room has shelves above the washer and dryer where all of our chemicals are stored. I have to reach up to get what I need. There is no way a child could reach them.

Isn't this why there are child-proofing devices out there for cabinets and drawers? To keep little hands out? Where are these parents storing their detergent packets - on the floor??
