@Mrs. Jump Rope: our house is over 100 years old and these windows don't have locking ability, so I've got to look at other alternatives.

@Mrs. Jacks: Do you have safety locks on your window? Ours do, and didn't even know about it until one day, I asked Mr. Jumper what the little latches are for. If I open them, it prevents the windows from opening any further than 3" high.

LJ is 6 months old, and has been crawling for about a month now. Just the other day, I caught her standing in the crib. So, the mattress got lowered. Today, I caught her climbing a box of diapers.

She's always on the move, doing something she shouldn't be. I call her my little Dare Devil!

My LO is 2 years old and started climbing like a maniac around 6 months ago. He'll climb anything and everything so what we did was buy one of those climber playsets (we bought the Kangaroo Climber) and he climbs on that to get his climbing urges out! It really helped too! He stopped climbing on the sofa after we bought it. It takes up a lot of room in our living room but it's worth it since we know he'll be safe!

DD started climbing around 1, too. Right now, her favorite thing is to climb up and into DS's crib when we're upstairs doing diaper changes. :/ Sometimes it's a good skill to have (she can go up and down the stairs by herself), but she's so fearless, it sometimes scares me!

My nephew is 15 months and climbs on everything. He has gotten on top of the dining room table and even on top of my mom's record player on a table in her living room last week in about 20 seconds. I'm sure he's going to break a bone soon. My sister just can't keep him from climbing on furniture.

Yesterday I caught her trying to climb out her window. I think we're going to put bars on it. I've seen too many two year olds injured or killed from falling out second story windows. It's a huge fear of mine. I've already told all of you that she climbed to the top of a stool and fell and hit her forehead. As that injury evolves, she has a dent in the fat pad of her forehead. She has no fear! It terrifies me!

She climbs on everything. She is constantly trying to swing her leg over things but luckily she can't get it over much yet. She just turned 11 months but she's been climbing over us if we're laying down for several months, it's just she's getting better at it and able to climb over and on bigger things now!

LO is almost 9 months and likes to climb me when I'm holding her. She'll use her legs to climb my stomach and boobies...I'm not sure where she thinks she's going, though.

@Boogs: We do have a lot, but he only really climbs the ones behind our couch! He climbs up on the couch and then starts climbin' some more!

You can see the bookcases here:

Just as I hit submit I had to run over because he climbed in the swing and was flopping out!

Bookcases are scary! Luckily we don't have any. Do you have a lot? And are they fastened to the wall?

My LO just turned on and this kid has gotten so wild, he's been climbing on EVERYTHING. He climbs on top of his little chair to stand on it, he stands on his walking toy to try to stand on the coffee table, shoot he even climbs on me to get on the couch.

Does your LO do this? What age did they start?
