Gifts will be a nice surprise. And we've wrapped up a few gifts to give others, one my 4 year old was playing with a bit while I got tape but she just said bye you have to go to your new family now. And it's not even food, just tiny wooden toys that you hang on a little tree. She always wants to do "one more". </p> <p>I don't think she gets the idea of presents really. And she thinks everything she gets is from me anyway. My aunt sent her some gifts to open on st Nicholas day and when I ask who they were from she always says mommy. But she can't handle the temptation of wrapped presents under the tree- not that she wants the present, she just wants to unwrap boxes. He got a set of cutting fruit at a Christmas party the other day and he thinks it is the best thing ever - I am sure he would be completely happy if that was his only gift! </p> <p>The chocolate advent calendar on the other hand... every morning when we go in to get him it's "Open Avent Caanda NOW!!" The only gifts I have had out are all being donated and we haven't had any issues. We will see what happens Christmas morning. Last year she got a little upset when she was done opening presents and her cousins weren't. That really made DH and I upset! If she pulls that again this year we'll be taking presents away. Working really hard this year to start teaching her that it's also about giving. Especially to those that have less than we do. Are they being good and understanding what the season is all about? Are they being grabby and needy and asking for lots and lots of presents? What is the attitude like in your house right now with Christmas just 11 days away?</p> <p>Our 3 year old has been super good. I kind of wish every year after this would be just like this year. :) She's super excited to put things under the tree and when we get boxes delivered to the house, she asks, "Who is this present for?" And then wants to put it under the tree. Maybe this year will have an all Amazon box look under our tree. ;-) </p>
