I think she's developing like the average child, but the pediatrician says she's advanced physically. She is a very strong child. She's too young to tell when it comes to social skills, talking, etc.

DD is on schedule. She was advanced with her fine/gross motor skills, though i think it's just on schedule now.

I was afraid she was behind verbally because she never really babbled but she seems to be on schedule now. After a nurse said that she had a tongue tie (which my ped disagreed with) i would always wonder whether that was the cause of DD's lack of babbling.

DS has been ahead physically and behind verbally. DD is only 4 months but by the time DS was 4 months he could sit unassisted.

@Crumbs: my LO sounds like your LO. She's just over 4 months and loves to stand up, and can sit pretty well with minimal assistance but she shows zero interest in rolling and doesn't roll yet from back/front or front/back. She loves sitting up and standing, and hates tummy time.

LO seems pretty sturdy. Whenever we go for check-ups, everyone always comments on how strong she is. She's had good neck control for awhile now and absolutely loves to stand up and bounce around. But at almost 4 mo, she still has no interest in rolling over, so I'm sure it'll all average out physically.

As for her cognitive milestones, I'm guessing it's about average, but she's really too young to tell.

C is on track or advanced in all her milestones. She started sitting unassisted at 5 months, babbling at 6 months. She's 6.5 months and well on her way to crawling.

She is more advanced in social and fine motor skills than gross motor skills but she seems to do do fine all around.

She seems pretty average or slightly advanced in terms of physical milestones. She does great with food when she actually eats - at 8 months she can feed herself very well. She hasn't said any words yet but is very vocal and screams a ton :)

Le sigh. I feel like he's behind in everything but I think my background as an occupational therapist is interfering and plays a huge part in my worry.

At almost 8 months, my LO sits great, can stand at a play table for minutes at a time (but I need to be there to catch him when he WILL fall), holds his bottle and drinks from a sippy, can self-feed small foods like puffs and he rolls when he wants to. He has decent eye-hand coordination and even better eye-mouth coordination (he often brings his mouth directly to food that we are holding)!!

But he doesn't babble, can't transfer positions (lying to sitting, sitting to standing, etc.), isn't close to crawling (wants to but has no clue what to do with his body), hasn't grasped object permanence, doesn't look for things under blankets and such, and he doesn't always respond to his name.

I know babies develop at their own rate and all of this worry is definitely a case of knowing too much for my own good!

My LO has been average in physical milestones but a bit behind in communication. At 18 months he just started to talk, but I'm not too concerned because he understands us and tries to communicate his needs. Einstein didn't speak until 5. I'm just going to assume that delayed speech is connected with super genius brain power. Hehe.

I think LO is pretty much right on schedule with most milestones except for some physical. She's 6 1/2 months and still shows no interest in rolling, although she can sit up unassisted for about a minute at a time.

Yep! DS is 10 months, loves to eat and has since 4/5 months when we started solids. He's also very physical, sat up, stood and crawled early. HE started saying "mama" and "dada" super early.

But this kid won't hold his own bottle or drink from a sippy, even though he will attempt to spoon feed himself. And he won't clap his hands, though he will give high fives.

I would say we are pretty average.

Most people think we are way behind on sleeping because she didn't sleep through the night until after a year and still isn't great at going down on her own.

She is great at eating and walking.

She isn't talking a lot but she communicates really well through signs etc.

He seems to be pretty average or a little behind as far as most milestones go.

Physical Milestones he's pretty much been right on track. The only area he's really been advanced on is his pincer grip and hand/eye coordination.

He seems to be a bit slower on the Cognitive Milestones. He babbles but still isn't really saying any words at 13 months.

He's been pretty on track with his eating.

Liv was and is way ahead in eating. She started at 6.5 months on table food (BLW) and loves spices. Garlic powder, chili powder, roseamary, curry , etc. She loves flavor.

She was ahead in physical milestones-walking, crawling, rolling, standing, etc. Pincer grasp and hand eye coordinaiton as well. Even now she can run and jump and balance better than most kids in her age group

She understands almost EVERYTHING we tell her, but she doesnt speak a ton. She says the usual mama, dada, daddy, kitty kitty, hi, hey, etc, plus a few sentences (gotta go, I did it, oh no!, here ya go) but thats about it. So shes a little behind there, but Im not too concerned since she understands so much and is focused on interacting.

I've seen some kids that are advanced physically are behind verbally and vice versa.

Charlie was pretty average with physical milestones (army crawled at 6 months, sat up unassisted at 7 months, walked at 13 months). But then all his friends started passing him in terms of physical development. Charlie's good friend is 3 months younger than him but she's always been able to outrun him by a mile. Another of his closest friends has been zooming along on his scooter for a long time, and Charlie isn't great at riding his scooter or balance bike.

As far as cognitive milestones, he is a little more advanced than average. He's always been ahead of all the kids in his daycare in terms of speaking.

Charlie was super behind when it came to eating. He didn't like chunkier foods until he was 18 months, and even now prefers foods with softer textures (that could be related to a sensory issue that's become habit).

Olive is definitely behind in physical milestones (still army crawling at 1 and not cruising yet). Cognitive milestones she seems to be on track, but not advanced..

As far as eating, she's pretty average too.. maybe a little advanced since we did BLW, but wasn't able to master it until she was much older since her physical milestones were behind.

What about your LO?
