She used to be on schedule, but she's fallen behind. At her nine month apt they asked if she claps her hands (now she kind of does at 10 months), crawls (she army crawls), climbs furniture (starting to do that now too), etc. She has such a big belly I'm sure it's hard for her to lift it up to do a lot of that stuff!

Somewhat ahead. I'm grateful that I don't have something to worry about in this department, since I tend to think about this a lot.

LO is, um, taking his time. Thank goodness for his gross motor skills- if he hadn't walked at 11 months, I think he'd have been a little behind on every milestone area at his 12 month visit!
Eh, he's getting there. And he's a super happy kid. So I'm not terribly worried.

Up to the 12 month mark DS was pretty much on time for verbal milestones and on time or a little behind on physical milestones. He's 95% for height and weight, so I've heard he might be slower on some physical milestones because it's harder for him to be coordinated with his size with the extra weight to carry around.

He was very early with holding his head up and head control, on time to roll over, slow to sit up on his own, slow to crawl, and slow to walk it seems. (He's almost 14 months and not standing or walking independently yet.) He also doesn't clap but otherwise his motor control is great. He smacks his hands down, rather than together, when he's excited. He can (kind of) brush his teeth on his own, though we haven't really tried having him use utensils to eat.

He babbles a lot and made a bunch of different sounds early. He understands some words (up, down, dinner, food, bottle, outside, no, mama, daddy, and book). He sometimes seems to respond to commands, like bring me a book, but other times ignores us if it's not what he wants to do. He's not really using words yet, though I think he's really close.

I avoid looking at the charts, but it's hard not to compare to other kids close to his age. For everything he seems to be slow doing, he's doing something else that he seems to be ahead with, so I'm trying not to worry.

My son is within the appropriate range for "normal" but isn't on the front end of that range. He still hits the milestones before they become a concern so we aren't worried. Ultimately, he waits to do things until he can do them full-throttle so there is no tentative trying to crawl or walk moments. It is either he does them all the way (long distance crawling, walks across the living room) or not at all.

Both kids have been ahead; I think we have another early talker on our hands because DS started cooing and gurgling really early.

So far she seems to be on schedule at 4 months old. I find the whole milestone thing really stressful, worrying if LO is hitting her milestones on time or if she's way behind, if I should be doing more with her so she does hit her milestones on time. DH always has to tell me to just relax and let her be.

LO is ahead on somethings, but also behind on others. Actually, like @chopsuey119: said, I don't think it's so much she is behind but compared to other babies I know she does some things less/later.

She's ahead on some, behind on others. I don't really know if she's behind though. If I compare her to babies who walked before they turned one, then she's behind. She started walking 10 days shy of 13 months!

Charlie was about on schedule (or ahead of schedule), but Olive is definitely behind schedule (even adjusted for coming 5 weeks early).

It's interesting to be on both sides of the milestone continuum... feeling good about Charlie being advanced, and feeling not so good about Olive being slower. Emotionally, having a baby that's behind schedule has been harder than I anticipated. Olive is catching up though, and it's gotten a lot easier.

How about you: is your LO ahead of schedule for milestones, behind schedule, or just about on time?
