3 yr old can put on her undies, pants, and socks. I usually put the top on her and she puts her arms through. Sometimes it's faster if I help her along

DD is 3 and dresses herself. Usually in a dress or booty shorts, so we go through the cycle a few times before we agree on something appropriate for the weather/activity.

My almost 3.5 LO can almost fully dress himself - shirt, underwear, pants, hoodie, sometimes socks, shoes. I don't really understand, though, because sometimes he'll pretend like he doesn't know how to do it and then asks me to do it for him. Socks are still the hardest, and he doesn't do buttons (we barely ever dress him in anything that needs to be buttoned). Zippers are hit or miss.

my almost 3 year old is dressing herself. not by my choice! it takes so much longer to get dressed but she insists on doing everything herself. The only thing she needs help with is taking off shirts. but other than that she does it herself.

3.25 year old can do her socks, underwear, pants, and certain shoes. If I get her shirt/dress over her head, she can manage the arms herself.

Note that I said CAN. That doesn't always mean she WILL :), so I tend to give her a little extra help when we are in a hurry to get out the door.

Dd1 (nearly 3.5) - nope. Refuses full stop 'mummy help please' or 'mummy do it'. I know I should force her to start doing it herself but most of the time we're in a hurry and I just don't have time for the battle.

DD2 on the other hand, at just 20 months old, dresses herself nearly independently. She can put her pants, socks, and shoes on without help (correct feet 95% of the time) and only needs minimal help with guiding her hands to the arm holes once she's pulled her shirt over her head. She needs help with buttoning and getting a zipper started, but can put her jacket on and fasten it up besides that.

DS is 2 and can take off his pants, but can't pull them up over his diaper, especially in the back. If I hold the shirt for him, he'll know how to put his arms through, but he doesn't know how to put it over his head. He knows how to take off his shirt, but it always get stuck on his head so I have to help him there.

My 4.75 yo can dress himself but he is extremely slow about it and I usually help to speed up the process.

My 23 mo loves to try and always insists on putting things on, but she can't do it all by herself yet.

Yes, he has 4 pair of superhero pjs he likes to cycle through about 20 times a day and I refuse to constantly dress/undress him so he had to learn to do it on his own.

It's also nice with 2 that I can throw his clothes on his bed and by the time I'm done dressing his baby sister he's dressed too. He can't do socks and shoes yet, though.

edit: he's 3

L is 2.5 and can partially dress himself but struggles with other parts (getting his shirt over his head or getting the legs of his pants off). He hasn't really had much of an interest, but I like to try to help him do it himself.

My lo is 3 and I still dress her. We don't have any other kids in the house and don't plan to so I may just be coddling her a little bit but I love that I still get her dressed every morning. :) She could, if she had to, but I really like doing it.
