She's usually pretty good about sharing. Her and her best friend pick each other little gifts when we're out for a walk (dandelions, rocks, special pieces of grass). And she does like to offer her toys for other little kids to play with. But if she's been playing with a kid for long enough there's usually some point where they bicker over a toy or one of them really doesn't want the other to play with something. Luckily they seem to get over it pretty quick.

It was my understanding that before the age of 3, children didn't really understand what sharing really meant. Now that I have a 2.5 year old, I can only say that it seems like he shares, if you tell him to give his toy to another child, he will do it, but I don't think he undestands WHY he has to do it.

LO is too small to understand the concept of sharing (just under 6 months). But she does NOT like to share attention. A couple new babies started in her day care class recently and if her favorite teacher holds either of the new babies M gives them serious stink eye until she gets picked up and cuddled!!

Aww. She is so sweet.

My LO understands the concept of sharing, but he doesn't understand why no one else shares at the train table at B&N. He gets upset and starts saying, "Share, share, share." When his cousin was over he brought her toys and shared with her.

Lol, oh, little sweetie. :) I think the kids do pretty well. They pretty much only ever fight with each other.

Eta: I guess DS gets into it with one of his little friends, but they're both just over a year, so that's to be expected.

My LO is great at sharing. But it's not because she's polite. She's just very shy and will do anything to not have to talk to and play with other kids. So when a child comes up to her and she has a toy in her hand, she quickly gives it up just to avoid interaction.
