He's pretty good, but I credit that to focusing more on taking turns rather than sharing. I think sharing is a really abstract concept (and doesn't make sense when you think about it--when you share a toy car, it's not like you both get to play with it at the same time--what you're really doing is taking turns with it), and turn taking is much more easily understood. also, the daniel tiger song helps! :)

DD - it's a work in progress. She shares, reluctantly

DS - a natural sharer. We can't take credit at all because all have to do is ask, or if he overhears DD wanting something he's playing with... he automaatically hands it over! He's a giver.

She actually is- she will hold out her toys to trade with other kids even. And when we have friends over she usually isn't possessive, except the one time someone sat in her little chair. She was having NONE of that.

However I don't have any illusions that this will be the case when we have another baby who just won't leave.

We went though her toys last weekend to donate things to a baby friend, and I was sure she'd want to keep everything. I was surprised by how much she wanted to give the baby.

I think he's pretty good. I don't think toddlers are great sharers in general but he is decent at it especially when other kids are playing at our house.

My oldest LO is still learning how to share. She thinks everything that her baby sister has is hers, and she rips it from her hands. I have been working so hard on teaching her how to share, taking turns, etc. If she is in a particularly good mood she will share some of her favorite things with her sister, but it would be great if we could get that to happen more often! She does pretty well sharing with me and DH, and loves to share her food, so that's good! I think part of the issue with not sharing with her sister is jealousy.

How is your LO at sharing? How did you teach your LO to share/take turns?
