I can't speak about a LO but I was totally this way (and still am!). My mom says that I would always talk really loudly and really fast and I still do this as an adult!

I always tell LO he's at a volume of 20 and he should be at a 5 lol. The only time he does well is at the library, he has mastered his library voice at least!

My daughter is super loud and super demanding. Not greedy or bossy or anything like that, but she doesn't not put up with being ignored...heaven help the innocent shopper who doesn't respond to her 'hello'.
We are working on whispering when we need to. She is about half way there.
PS- it is interesting how many people respond kind of negatively to her loud repeated questions (if she doesn't get an answer the first time) or her repeated 'hellos'. Don't get me wrong, I shush her if she is interrupting or anything, but if she asks you a direct question at an appropriate time and you don't answer, I think she SHOULD repeat herself....but maybe not so loudly, lol.

He is very loud when he initially enters into a situation; however, we've found that if we explain to him that he's in a particular place (church is a good example) and we ask him to whisper or talk quietly, he usually remembers for the most part.

He is always loud. Definitely doesn't get the idea of an inside voice. But he's only 19 months....

Have you tried whispering in response? I can normally get DS1 to mimic the way I'm talking :)

I may or may not also do this at work with loud talkers...

I have a loud voice, so it doesn't surprise me that my son is loud as well.

My son is also VERY loud. We try to work on his quiet voice, especially when DD is napping. I tell him he can talk, but he has to do so quietly.

Our son likes to talk, and very loudly!

When we're out, sometimes I'll ask him to be a bit quieter and he is... but then the volume of his voice will creep back up until he is once again projecting to the back of the room. If he ever decides to work on Broadway, he is all set - he could probably project his voice all the way back to the parking lot! If anyone has tips on how to encourage your kids to develop an "inside voice", I'd love to hear them.
