Definitely dog, his two favorite pastimes are splashing in our dogs water bowl and stealing/chewing on their kong (eeewww...) But seriously, he is really social, plays really hard, likes lots of attention and loves to be held.

DS1 is a cat - he won't accept snuggles under any circumstances unless he's sick. He does give hugs and kisses, but they are very much at his discretion! He is so funny, somewhat moody, and very independent, but he does like to keep a close eye on me.

DS2 is pretty brand new, but so far, he is a dog - super cuddly, generally happy, pretty easygoing. Very different temperaments!

I think it's good to have one of both. :)

@mrbee: While cute, I also have proof that, underneath it all, Ewoks are babies:

Alice is more like a dog - outgoing, enthusiastic, smiley toward everyone. She likes to be center of attention and will pretty much go to whomever as long as I'm in view.

Blake is like a cat - when he's around new people (or even people he sees a lot, like my in-laws) he sits in my lap and acts serious and shy. He does.not like to smile at strangers when we're out and about. Of course, once he warms up to you he is a lovebug. But until then? He's been known to give some very cold stares!

C is totally a dog (I am too!). She's super friendly and loving, has never met a stranger, is very boisterous, and loves to be touched and cuddled. She actually goes through phases where she tells us she's a dog and acts like one for a couple days at a time. lol

Definitely a cat. We joke about how she is like our one cat all the time. The running joke with that cat has always been that he refuses to accept love. Like we try to pet him or get him on our laps and he is like get away from me crazy person. Although he will sometimes come lay on us, it always has to be on his terms. And even if he is on our laps he doesn't really want us to pet him. LO is similar. She is crazy active and whenever we try to hug her or kiss on her she pushes and wriggles away lol. She'll often come up to me and lay her head on me to snuggle. For like exactly 5 seconds. Then she's off again and if I try to cuddle her she's like noooooo haha.

Bee and I were just talking about how our daughter is like a cat. She's a little aloof, very affectionate (but on her terms), and a little unpredictable! But when she comes over and gives you a hug, you feel so lucky and blessed!

My son is definitely a dog: very loving, likes to snuggle, extremely loyal and pretty predictable. I'm like a dog too, so we understand each other.
