And I think that affected his confidence. He's improved a lot in the past year though. He's learned to ski, swim and is currently taking martial arts. He's a lot more outgoing and has been telling us that he's excited for kinder. Kindergarten was an amazing year... how exciting for the kids starting soon!</p> <p>DD2 will be 3 soon, but she's doing amazing at home, so probably doesn't need to go to school til she's 4 and ready for pre-k where her sister goes (a private PK-8th grade school). I don't mind keeping her home longer! I can always work with him at home too if he struggles. But my son is on the timid side especially with new environments. I just wonder if the extra year would help him have more confidence. He gets upset now when some of his classmates don't play with him. I'm sure she'll need time to adjust but if we get the teacher we want, she'll already be familiar with her since she was my son's teacher at the same age. My son is starting kindergarten too. He's really excited about it but I'm nervous. Based on his birthdate and the school cutoff here, he'll always be one of the youngest in his class. I worried about it when he started preschool at 3 but he did great so I hope it'll be the same next year. But if this is the year to hold him back if we were to choose that route.
