LO and I have the same doctor. I chose female for my pregnancy (that was the first time we used her) because I'm not comfortable with a male OB/GYN. Didn't even think about her gender when we chose her for DS's doctor, but I do think I like it better? Like, I was having issues with plugged ducts in the beginning, and she checked them out when we had LO in for an appt. I don't think I'd feel as comfortable with a male feeling on my boobs, etc. I also like that she's female because she can empathize with my mom neuroses more. But my husband really wanted a male doctor. He can be a bit shy and he said he would just feel more comfortable to ask questions with a male doctor so we went with a male. And he is honestly AMAZING. I had a total break down in his office when my daughter was a week old because I was terrified that she was going to suffocate in her sleep (I had a little pp anxiety until the hormones settled down). He was so comforting and understanding, I was really impressed and he has continued to be incredible ever since!
