Hubs will be in the room, at my head/shoulders, feeding me ice chips. I doubt he'll get down south to get a National Geographic view.

Only my husband and mom will be invited into the delivery room. He'll be there so long as he's not deployed (at my head, I imagine). I'll be inviting his mom if he is deployed, but her job doesn't offer much flexibility to let her come out for long.

My husband always jokes that he will wait outside but in reality he will be with me in the room and others (like parents and siblings) will be in the waiting room or stop by when they cane after the baby is born. Husband will most definitely not be at the foot of the bed at the request of both of us.

DH will be in the room, and that's it. No friends, no parents... sorry. You can wait outside. I feel like birth is a private thing, and a room full of people would stress me out.

Yeah, my husbands wants to be in the room but he already told me that he will be on my side... not the receiving end. I think if he did see any of the birth, he would mostly likely pass out.

I definitely want my husband there when the time comes. If two people are going to make the baby, then both better be there when it's born! I think I'd like the option of having my mom and sister around for labor, but I'm not positive if I'll want anyone but my husband for the actual birth.

Our plan has always been that anyone is welcome to stop by while I'm in labor (thank goodness for epidurals), but when it's actually time to deliver, only my husband will be allowed.

With Claire, this worked out exactly as planned. And while I was a bit squeamish about my husband looking "down there" while I was pushing, it didn't matter when the time came and he ending up witnessing the entire thing. I was in such a daze right after the baby was born that I didn't even notice the doctor delivering the placenta, or stitching me up, but my husband saw everything!

I was in labor for 18 hours and then moved to a C-section, and he was in both rooms. My OB had him stay above the curtain for the C-section. He's a pediatric resident so he wasn't grossed out, but I was annoyed because during the C-section he kept "testing" the med student who was in the room observing - instead of paying attention to me!

He was there the whole time, mostly at the head of the bed, holding my hand, but he took peeks down there every so often. Even cut the cord. The only thing that grossed him out a little was the afterbirth. He kinda did a double take at that, he thought all the gross stuff was done coming out! He was like, "There's more stuff coming out!" Lol, men!

My husband was by my side the whole time, and I don't know how I could have done it without his support. I recently watched the episode of Mad Men where Betsy goes into labor and Don is in the waiting room the whole time. Then I remembered the same situation in I Love Lucy when Lucy goes into labor. I wonder when they started to allow husbands in the delivery room.

I will definitely have the Hubby, but he will be up at the head of the bed because he does not do blood very well. I will probably have my dad in there because he is a doctor and I know that he will be helpful if anything is needed.

I'll probably let my Mom come in before I start to push and then make her leave. I don't want any male member of my family coming into that room when I'm laying there, scantily clad and in pain. That's other than my husband, of course. He will have to be at the head of the table, though. He gets grossed out by earwax. I think seeing a baby being born might send him over the edge. :)

Our plan was always that Rob Sr. would be in the room with me through it all, and no one else. Because of all my epidural failures, I think the next time around I will hire a doula just in case. I'm lucky that he's interested in the whole process and doesn't mind all the blood and stuff. I also did NOT want to look in a mirror while pushing, so he gave me a play by play.

Even though there were complications and they faces went literally white, I knew everything was okay and was so happy to have them there for that special moment. For baby deux, I don't think my mom will be there. But for the first time, I need to have a "you are doing a good job" pep talk from my mom.

When we poll our friends, the joke is always about who will be at the foot of the bed and who will be at the head of the bed! Chad is not afraid of blood and gore, so he was a foot of the bed. He always tells me amazing it was to see our little one being born.

When Mrs. Bee was in labor, I was in the delivery room. But eventually she had to get a c-section, and so I couldn't join the new Bee family until after the surgery.

It truly felt like a miracle, and I'm so glad that I was there. I was definitely nervous about it beforehand though!

How about your mister or partner: will they be joining you in the delivery room?
