My FIL is sweet to always ask for my preference on dinner, but I always defer to what my MIL wants. And it drives me crazy. This year we are celebrating MIL's birthday (which was last week) and Mother's Day for her with dinner (that we are helping to make) and we're going out to breakfast for my Mom before church. We usually spend the day as just a small family, and then have dinner with them. Some years we also have brunch with my aunt and grandmother. I mean, my husband recognizes me for Mother's Day and tries to do something nice for me (flowers, card) but we are still expected to spend the day with our mothers. They would be sad if we did not. I honestly don't mind since my kids are pretty little still, and our moms will only be around for so long. Is your Mother's Day about you or your own mom?
