My little Morkie, Clover, is definitely a hoarder! She will put about 6 or 7 kibbles in her mouth and run to the bedroom to eat them under the bed. She also hoards toys by hiding them! It's a strange but endearing trait!

LOL that's hilarious!

My old dog never did this, but my Leroy "buries" his bones and treats sometimes. He "digs" in the bed or couch, puts the bone down and then "buries" it. Usually it remains in plain sight the whole time haha.

That's funny! My dog hid treats when she was a puppy. She would get agitated and go all around the room, looking for the right spot. It was usually the couch, and she would burrow her bone away.

@Fussygal: oh my goodness! I love the look on that dog's face. But what the heck? I have to move my couch at least every few weeks to get all the fur out, and it quickly gets disgusting.

So funny!

Not my dog, but when I was little, my gramma had a little cockapoo named Trixie. She liked to hide her dog bones (those little milk bone things). We'd often go to her house and in the room we slept in there was always a little bone under the pillow in there, lol.

@fussygal: lol!!

So funny! We used to have a second dog who was secretly hoarding all the toys. She was so sneaky about it (and we had so many dog toys) that we didn't know until we looked in her upstairs crate and found at least 10 toys hidden in the bed there! Then a repair guy came over and said he couldn't find his screws, so we knew where to look...she'd started hoarding his things too.

So clever! Our little guy doesn't do that but he does get possessive of his bones when other dogs are around.

Also, your post reminded me of this pic I saw on FB earlier tonight! :)

lol, your dog is so cute!!! My cat doesn't horde, but she was been very cool (passive but not cuddly) to LO since she was born, until a few weeks ago when LO figured out how to open the kitty treats and give a treat to kitty. Now my cat is all "I luvz you babby!" to LO 24/7!!!!

My dog is quite old (16 in September), and while she is doing quite well, she's definitely developed some quirks in her old age. Recently, she's been hoarding her food (or rather, the other dog's food). It is pretty hilarious. Today, she shoved the other dog out of the way while he was eating, then pushed his bowl under the couch so he couldn't eat it. I guess she didn't think through how she would get it back out, ha.

Then last weekend, I shit you not, she pushed the bowl over to the living room rug, pulled back its corner, dumped out the food, and covered it back up with the rug. WTF.

Do your senior (or junior) pets do the same thing, or am I dealing with a case of doggy dementia??
