We just started using sippy cups but we only use them for water so it hasn't been a problem so far. We have the Tommee Tippee ones.

The kind of sippies we chose didn't seem to have that issue but all of ours were soft spouts so we could really get in there to clean versus some of the hard spouts.

We only used a sippy for water (the Tilty) and it is easy to clean.

I have a Think Baby straw sippy and it's easy to wash.
I just use the little brush that came with my Dr Brown's bottles :)

I am still trying to decide which sippy cup to get and a lot of them have negative reviews regarding mould building up in the spout because its hard to clean. Did you have this issue?
