@T.H.O.U.: Exactly. His first words are either "eat eat" or "poop poop". Probably a ploy because those will get him out of bed.

WOW, my LO wakes up at 4 am hungry sometimes. And then begs for food until preschool feeds him breakfast at 8:00 am.

He doesn't always eat a great dinner (for example tonight only 1 hot dog instead of 3, but he had strawberries and bananas and sunny buddies for snack before dinner). So maybe that is the problem.

For full disclosure he is also intolerant to soy and just coming out of being failure to thrive. So he may just metabolize food quickly. He just turned 2 years old in April.

She usually doesn't eat a huge breakfast but occasionally she'll eat a good amount. She is generally a good eater though so I don't stress.

Mine likes to wait, just like me. I'm not sure I could get a good meal into her if we had to leave in an hour - that would be hard. Can you arrange to send her breakfast to be eaten at the morning snack time?

L tends not to eat much in the morning before daycare. As much as I would love her to eat more I try not to push too much because I myself have never liked eating that early. I eat breakfast after I get to work.

LO can go an hour or so without asking for breakfast. When he does sit down to eat, he eats a huge meal.

W is RAVENOUS in the morning. Breakfast is his biggest meal, morning is his biggest snack, lunch is decent, he doesn't usually eat an afternoon snack at all, and dinner is so-so.

As soon as he wakes up he nurses on both sides for like a half our (he's 15 months old). The other day, just for fun I weighed myself before and after and I lost .8 pound! Then he eats a banana and a handful of cereal while I do dishes. Then he eats an egg and 2 pieces of turkey sausage (that's a normal breakfast for him). His appetite astounds me.

@Rubies: Ours is a HUGE breakfast eater. She wakes up saying "eat eat" although that may be her ploy to get us up and out of bed. So we give her a small bowel of cereal and a cup of milk (5:30-6am). Then we drop her off at daycare with what used to be just a banana but has turned into a mini breakfast of milk, banana, yogurt and/or muffin (7:00) and then she eats again with the class around 8am!!

When she wakes up we snuggle, get dressed and go on a walk to get coffee (about an hour in total). By the time we get back she eats about 1 probugs yogurt pouch, half a waffle and some raspberries.

She isn't hungry unless she has pooped. Once she has pooped, she will eat something. Usually she wants to eat sausage and strawberries and will ignore her eggs - but that's just her being picky. :)

From the time my 2-year old wakes up to the time she leaves for daycare, one hour passes. But she isn't hungry! I try to get her to eat some yogurt or a banana but she isn't interested. Her daycare teachers tell me that by morning snack time, she's starving. Poor girl.

Is your toddler hungry in the morning?

(FYI, she's a great eater, she just doesn't like eating so soon after waking up, I guess).
