I always voted, but voting blue in MA and NY kind of feels like piling on sometimes. You know in the back of your mind that millions of other people are voting blue too, and if you don't vote the outcome will still be the same.</p> <p>But with what happened in Michigan and Wisconsin, I feel more that my vote counts. I don't want to assume any more that my vote gets taken for granted. It's been red and blue and red again since I started voting. My current state is solidly red, but if I were to stop voting then the chances of politicians visiting the state and other blue voters would go down. People campaign and vote where they think they have a chance. Even when I lived in Texas and voted blue, I felt like I counted....even if just so people could track changes or where people vote which way.</p> <p>Now living in a more blue state, I still feel like it counts because my current state is pretty divided. All the more urban places vote blue, and all the more rural and far-out suburbs vote red. Except for the suburbs with train lines to NYC.
