Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear I'm not the only one whose had some struggles. I agree it worked for me at one point, but I think I'm past that point now.

I had the same issue when I switched birth control. I was able to go back on my other brand and didn't have an issue.

I had a similar experience when I just switched from a brand name to the generic (of Yaz). I lasted about two months on it, feeling horrible, incredibly moody, fighting with DH all the time mixed with crying over nothing... the doctor's office said to give it 3 full months but after 2, I couldn't handle it and switched back to the brand name. It helped, but I never felt quite the same on the pill after that and felt a million times better after going off. After this LO, we will use condoms, EBF, pull out, and NFP (some combo of them). I already told DH I'm never going back on the pill.

I should say-- it worked great for me for years and years, I felt great on it. Just not for me any more.

A few years ago I was going through a depression and was on Nuvaring. I noticed a definite improvement when I stopped the Nuvraring. I don't think it caused it (I was going through a traumatic break up) but it definitely made things worse. A couple years later I started it again and had no problems with it.

I've recently gone back on the pill...I was on it for a 10 year period (1997-2007). I noticed that my moods are more even than they were in the last year, so I am happy with the decision, but I've told my husband it's up for evaluation at any point, especially if I notice mood swings.

About 8 weeks after LO was born I went back on the birth control pill. I hadn't been on it in years, but DH and I decided we needed something to prevent pregnancy for the first year until we determined if we would try for another baby or take more permanent measures. I became such a wreck on the pill and it totally brought on some depression, which I have never dealt with before. I stayed on for two months and then declared to my husband that I was going off and he could worry about preventing baby number 2. Within a week and a half I felt back to normal and have now sworn off the pill forever. Has anyone else had similar issues with birth control post-pregnancy? I thought this would be worth sharing in case others have similar struggles.
