@spaniellove: I seriously just had the BEST encounter at the Kiehl's counter! I returned 2 products to Clinique (they are never easy to work with - at least not my counter) and then went over to the Keihl's counter. There was only one lady working and I swear, the time to go is during the day when they have a bunch of time to talk and it's not super busy. I pretty much told her my story - itchy irritated acne, TTC, sensitivity, etc and (minus the TTC part) she totally had the same issues. To the point where she was on accutane for a bit. I explained that I wanted something that wasn't super harsh with a lot of chemicals in it. We talked about a BUNCH of product options and what was good about them and not right about others. She even told me Cetaphil is the face wash I should get! Her dermatologist told her to use that one. He also looked at the products she used (the same ones she suggested to me) and said they were all good ones. I ended up getting a toner, a lotion and a spot treatment due to the dark spots from the acne :( I also talked to her about the Mia. She has one too and said my problem is probably that I need the sensitive head and I have the one that comes with the Mia. She said her dermatologist recommended the Mia and he told her it's probably the only product he'd tell her is worth the extra money. Oh and to only use it at night. I feel so relieved and like this IS going to get better! I have 28 days and if it's not - it's all going back!! :)

Thank you so much for your help today - you really saved my sanity!

@Mrs.VW: I get my peels from Makeup Artists Choice - their prices are reasonable and the quality is good, which is important considering you don't want to mess around with a peel! I used to use their TCA peel but that is strong, strong stuff. The 40% glycolic is just enough to give you a glow and a little exfoliation (where the Clarisonic helps) and you can use it weekly. I used to be more familiar with Kiehls when I lived near one of their stores but haven't been in there in a while!

@spaniellove: I know. That really is my first priority. What peel do you use? Have you heard anything about Kiehl's products?

@Mrs.VW: The marks are slowly going away for me with a weekly 40% glycolic peel and wearing sunscreen religiously. So they will go away! You just need to focus on helping your skin to stop being angry!

@spaniellove: YES! That is how I'm feeling! I'm feeling like these marks will never go away but it's like..... I want to get PG so what am I will to go through and give up to get there! And I also dread going out. :/ I think I'll hold off on the Mia for a bit. There is NO way it's helping at this point!

@Mrs.VW: It will get better; you'll find a solution! I seriously got so down that I was feeling like my skin might be totally ruined if I had to keep TTC and I dreaded going out.

@Mrs.VW: Well maybe going w/o anything for a day would help a lot so you can figure out if things feel calmer, then you can start from there. You shouldn't have to stop taking anything!

@spaniellove: I'm sure I made changes to my cosmetics! I just say what bc I've been trying so many different things that I'm sure I did! :) The omega 3 I just started a couple weeks ago. The B6 and the others I've been on for about.... 3 months. The thing is though, I really can't go off of those too much since that's what my Creighton teacher has suggested I use. :/
I wish I could find an all natural make up line. I wonder if that would help. I just started back on Bare Minerals today but I'm worried about 'buffing' anything on my skin!

@Mrs.VW: How long have you been taking the B6/omega-3 (and I'm assuming a prenatal)? And did you make any changes in your cosmetics routine around 3 months ago? I ask because I was also on B6 and omega-3 when my skin flared up!

@LemonLong: So as I'm eliminating, I just go without that product at all. i.e. Stop using my moisturizer and just not use any. I just want to make sure I know what you mean :)

@spaniellove: This is what I'm currently using:

Start eliminating one product at a time until you find the culprit! when you are eliminating, you don't want to add anything new- so for instance if you are eliminating your moisturizer, don't add a new moisturizer right away since they probably have common ingredients. Once you know what product is actually causing it, you can look for alternatives. It does sound like you are having a reaction to something.

@Mrs.VW: I was having that problem and finally had to use Alima Pure because I'm allergic to coconut and *everything* has some kind of coconut derivative! Just curious, are you taking anything besides a prenatal? I broke out pretty badly when I started taking a prenatal and am just now getting it under control with some glycolic peels and using my Clarisonic occasionally.

@spaniellove: I haven't really had the chance to do that but I might try it on Saturday. I might just ground myself to the house :/ It's so hard to do that but I CAN NOT go outside without makeup, it looks AWFUL.
I've tried different foundations, cover up, everything and I can not find the right combination! I wash our sheets all the time and keep my hair off my face. Do you know of any good products I could try?

@Mrs.VW: It could be something you're putting on your face during the day...or even something you're eating, though not as likely. Have you ever tried not putting anything on your face on the weekends or when you know you're not going out? How has your skin reacted?

It's possible that it's not straight up acne, but an allergic reaction. Does it ever get better at night like while you sleep and then flare up during the day?

I've been having itchy acne for about..... 3 months now. I've been trying to find the perfect combination of products but it's getting to be a trying process. I've never had this before. Plus now I have some marks on my face that I'm going to have to try to get rid of. I totally blame TTC but I just don't know how to treat it!
