Wagon Jr. woke a few more times, and when he woke up at 2:30am he asked for water. I gave him a little because he was sweating and I knew he was probably dehydrated from the vomiting earlier in the night. Then he asked for "yummy stuff to make me feel better" (yummy stuff = children's ibuprofen). So I gave him a dose and he went back to sleep. He woke up crying for water and yummy stuff again at 6:30am. When I started telling him he already had yummy stuff, he said "but I'm sick" and started crying. Talk about breaking my heart!!! I was convinced that we were going to stay home, but Wagon Sr. swooped in and took over. He said Wagon Jr. says he's sick every morning. Haha. Anyway, he was fine and we took his temp... 96.8 under his arm, so adding the 1 or 2 degrees puts him right at perfect temp. His nose is still a bit runny but nothing unusual for this time of year. I think he has a sore throat because he was reluctant to eat breakfast, but he did eat some and was happy to go off to school. I'm wondering if they'll play in the snow and I hope if they do, it doesn't make him worse.</p> <p>At this point I'm pretty sure it's just a light cold (causing post-nasal drip, which is causing the cough, which caused the vomiting last night). No fever, no malaise, and he's eating a decent amount. </p> <p>Mommy and Daddy, however, are totally beat. And Dunkin totally botched my iced coffee this morning-- I usually get an iced caramel mocha, and it looks like they pumped in some mint by accident. Tasted like toothpaste. YUCK. </p> <p>LMW slept until 3:30am, at which point she woke to eat then went back to sleep on her own. Woke again at 7:30am right before we left for work. Totally smiley and adorable.</p> <p>Today's a new day...!!! </p> <p>p.s. last year we were RIGHT where most of you are right now... Wagon Jr. was sick EVERY week it seemed. It was awful. And this year he does have a runny nose all the time. But this is the first sign of illness so far this year, and it's really not that bad (minus the huge vomit last night). I'm starting to feel like that is status quo for daycare babies. It makes me sad to constantly be using boogie wipes on him (he hates having his nose cleaned). LO is happy though so I try not to thing about it since the only other option is a nanny and DH is against getting a nanny. We had to take off the crib bumper, remove the entire mattress, wipe down the crib bars, etc. There were huge chunks everywhere. :(</p> <p>So far 1 freakout wake up for Wagon Jr. ... he woke crying (probably a nightmare... he always has them when he doesn't take a nap at daycare, which he didn't today) and then started freaking out because he couldn't find his blankie. Wagon Sr. went in and tucked him back in because we didn't want him to keep crying and wake the baby...</p> <p>cue 10 mins later and LMW woke absolutely screaming at the top of her lungs like someone was pinching her. My nerves are totally shot (I had a REALLY bad day today before any of this stuff happened!) so we let her cry for 2 mins and then I sent Wagon Sr. up there. Normally we'd be sleep training right now but I just can't 1) hear her cry tonight and 2) risk waking Wagon Jr. again. </p> <p>Ughh!!!!!!</p> <p>On a happier note, yummy takeout eaten (American Joe's, which we never get because it's so expensive for simple food, but it's so yummy and comforting) and we're watching Tangled for the first time. Well, trying to watch it.
