Because she napped in our arms, she totally wasn't used to being put down and it snapped her wide awake. I call it "snacking", though in the early weeks, she could go 3 hours between feedings. Ultimately I think 5 days is too young. You just got to let them sleep! I think no less than 2 days after I posted "how to keep newborn awake?" did she start staying awake ALL day! She sleeps what seems like all day and then is up at night so we've been trying to keep her awake more during the day, but it's impossible to wake her up!!</p> <p>We've tried a cool cloth, taking her clothes off, changing her, bouncing her... Any other suggestions?? I'm totally freaked out that she's sleeping too much. </p> <p>She's 5 days old if that matters... </p>
