I have been sending my out of state families a food gift tower for birthdays and Xmas for years now. I use Costco (I think the best place for gift towers), Harry & David, and 1800baskets.com.

Someone from my office has given out the cookies from Double Tree! They are good. Packaged in a nice little tin and with a cute little gift bag.

What about sending a gift basket for the whole team, like a Harry and David tower...assuming they're all in the same location.

Costco sells two-pack tins of cookies and I mail them en masse to my boss and ask her to distribute them (I'm usually out of the office). They are like $20-25 a two-pack so not awful. I also stock up on BBW seasonal hand soaps during their sales and can whip up a cheap fast gift with a hand soap, a lip balm, and a hand cream for a colleague or admin staffer.

@Chuckles: true! In my case, since my team is so small, I know that everyone does celebrate! F someone didn't, I'd probably opt for more of a seasonal decor item or something really generic, like a picture frame.

@applesandbananas: and mrs. Sunshine: I would just be careful with ornaments because not everyone celebrates Christmas. I've gotten ornaments before, and I'm not offended or anything, but I just have no use for it.

I did ornaments one year, nothing really fancy. I just picked stuff that reminded me of them. I had a coworker who was a big football fan, so I got him one of his fave team, I had a coworker who loved shoes, so I got her a cute shoe ornament, etc.

For people that I couldn't really come up with anything, I just picked something generic, like a pretty snowflake or icicle set.

I spent $3-5 each for my team of 5.

What about making peppermint bark or something? That way you don't have to worry about how it will travel. Or little mixes of hot chocolate with marshmallows & a peppermint stick.

I'm stumped. My entire team this year works on the other side of the country.

I don't want to give:
- mugs
- calendars
- gift cards

I'm concerned that anything I bake will not travel well.

Ideas? Mostly men, a couple of women
