I had a mirena for almost two years and was pregnant three weeks post removal. I used OPKs and charted, and we spent a weekend away while I ovulated.

Thank you for asking this question. I just had my Mirena IUD removed today. I am charting, but we will use condoms for a while.

I got KU seven months after getting my IUD out. I have two friends who got KU without ever getting a period post Mirena though!

I had a Mirena for 2.5 years. My OBGYN had us wait one dull cycle after removal for TTC (to make dating a pregnancy easier). I got pregnant the next cycle, miscarried early, and got pregnant again about 2 weeks after the miscarriage. I'm 30 weeks with this baby now. Kind of a whirlwind. My OBGYN said her patients are typically able to get pregnant quickly after removal, often within 3 months.

My IUD didn't impact TTC. We used condoms for several months after I got the IUD out, but got pregnant first time we didn't use protection after that. Period returned immediately after IUD came out, was clockwork after (as it was before).

I had the Mirena for almost 3 years. Had it removed and got pregnant on my second cycle. I will say that charting and using OPKs definitely helped. My cycle was shorter than it had been pre LO#1/IUD and I would have missed my fertile window.

We are going to try for LO 2 very soon. I have the Skyla IUD and will likely get it removed at my next exam which is within a month or so. Did anybody have any issues trying after their IUD was removed? (We struggled with infertility to get pregnant with DS but we'll get to that point when we have to), For now I'm just curious as to how long it took you to get that BFP after the IUD was removed. Thanks!
