IUI#2 is done. Spermcount post wash was 51 million. Not as good as last time, but still plenty. I start prednisone Friday, ovidrel booster Sunday, progesterone in one week. My beta is 9/18. I hope the time flies by!

I start gonal f tonight (112.5) every night until the follies look good with monitoring every two days (which is painful...only one good being in my right arm). I had 8 and 6 resting follicles this morning
Trying to stay positive this cycle!

@Mrs. Pinky: I have my second IUI tomorrow for a femara/ovidrel cycle. My ultrasound showed a 20mm and 22mm follicle. I trigger when I get home from work and IUI tomorrow morning. Last one was great all around until AF came.

Just bumping!
So what's up? Joining Hb after lurking for a while...need some support! I'll be doing FSH (final f) injections daily and trigger with ovidrel.
Where are you in your IUI cycle? Finishing 2 weeks of BCP tomorrow because of vacation timing. So CD 1 tomorrow with Monitoring on 9/1.
How many IUIs will this be? #6 (last one before IVF)
Diagnosis? The dreaded "unexplained" :bummed:
Medications? Gonal f ...and wine
Other info? Just looking forward to the support that this forum shares!

Any one else starting an IUI cycle it currently in one?

@AmeliaBedilia: Fingers crossed for you! How are you feeling? My husband also has a little morphology issue, but my RE also said the count and motility can make morphology a non-issue. Phew. Good luck to you. This is exciting! Are you taking the day off of work?

IUI done. Post wash count was 85 million! Last morphology was 5%, but RE said that even if morphology is low, that the number makes up for it. Now we wait.

@AmeliaBedilia: That's awesome that insurance covers something. Ours was entirely out of pocket. At my first monitoring appointment, I only had one follicle at 4 mm, but my doc upped my meds and I had two follicles at 20 and 19 by the time we triggered after 12 days of meds. So don't be nervous if it's not what you wanted at your first appointment.

@BlueWolverine: Sending prayers this works for you. This is for baby#1. Our tentative plan is 3 IUIs, then IVF if needed.

We have a monitoring ultrasound tomorrow and I'm really nervous. I'm nervous about the ultrasound results, a few questions I have for RE, plus we need to meet with the financial coordinator. Our RE has an option for the entire cycle excluding meds for $800, which was our plan. Last appointment, DH paid the $220 monitoring visit instead, but the insurance only allowed $168, which went to our deductible. There is also some question of how many IUIs to pay for at once. They offer a buy 2, get the third free (except meds), but I'm not sure if you have to pay for them both up front and make that decision early. Mainly, I want to make sure we don't pay more than $800/1 cycle, 1600/3 cycles, and get as much to go towards my deductible as possible.

@AmeliaBedilia: we are lucky and have DD. because of high dose injectables, this cycle has already cost us thousands, and we have decided not to do IVF. I have really low AMH and initially our RE suggested a donor egg. Because we have DD, we wanted to give this IUI a shot, and then, if it doesn't work, be happy with being a one child family.

I haven't been here in a while, but I have been thinking about everyone. I have to take a couple of months off because we are having to start the injectables, so I guess we are going to be ordering those in January and starting them in February. I have been so discouraged lately, but reading some positive stories helps! Until then, we are going to just try ovulation tests and the good old fashioned way! Best of luck to everyone! I will be praying that we all get our miracles in 2015 if not sooner! ;)

@Trying2Synchorswim: What @travellingbee: said is just what I was going to say. I am "unexplained" as to why we cannot get pregnant without the help of our RE. But in my head, it helped me think that when they saw the fibroid on my hsg, confirmed it with my saline sono, and then performed the hysteroscopy and we got pregnant three months later...well, I thought "I'm not unexplained. I just had something in the way that needed to be removed to make room for the baby :)"

@travellingbee: I'm glad your hysteroscopy revealed that everything is all clear in there! :) Hopefully it's primed and ready now for a baby - good luck this cycle without intervention.

@Trying2Synchorswim: @sweetooth: depends on what kind you have done. They go into your uterus with a scope and look around. Sometimes they do a surgical procedure to remove adhesions or polyps, both of which could be contributing to infertility. So having it done could eliminate those factors. Mine showed nothing there so they just looked around and that was it. I was very happy to hear that I didn't have a polyp after all!

@Sweetooth thank you!! I hope you are right

Anyone else have some cramping after their IUI? The actual procedure was kind of uncomfortable (felt like a pap) but not painful.

But about an hour after I started having cramps - kinda like period cramps but maybe a little sharper, I dunno. They were kind of bad for a while, but I took some Motrin and now they are (mostly) gone.

Anyone else have this? I figure it's probably just from my uterus being kind of irritated from being poked and stuff. LOL

@fotolori1: Sorry for the late reply. I'm 41. My first IUI cycle this time ended in a BFN. Clomid then Bravelle and Ovridel. I had a great response according to the RE. My husbands numbers were merely okay, he had to give an extra sample at the RE because too many had died in transport. They also had a really hard time finding my cervix and maneuvering the catheter. I suspect one of those factors. I also wonder about my lining they said it was fine but with my successful IUI two and half years ago I was on Estrace for lining building. This IUI cycle went really fast when I went in for my monitoring appt. to see how much Bravelle I would need they found one follicle at 22 and the rest at 10 to 12 so they had me trigger instead of the Bravelle shot, I figured it was going to be a bust, but it actually worked. Lining on the thin side so I was out on Estrace again. I wonder if my body really needs that boost. The other different thing we did in my first cycle this time was we upped my synthyroid for my Hypothyroid. A Med change can take six weeks to work which would have put me into my second cycle. Good luck.

@MrsADS: I know that RE's can have varied opinions, but I recall mine saying they want to see no less than 5 million post-wash. So I think if you and your husband BD tonight and tomorrow, and you start the progesterone, you still have a great chance! Stay positive! Good luck to you! :goodluck:
